The Gulfport–Biloxi–Pascagoula Combined Statistical Area is a special region made up of five counties along the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. Think of it as a big neighborhood where different cities and towns work together. This area includes two main parts: the Gulfport–Biloxi Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Pascagoula Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2019, about 442,165 people lived here. On August 29, 2005, a very strong storm called Hurricane Katrina caused a lot of damage, but the area has been growing steadily since then!

Based on information from the year 2000, this area was home to nearly 400,000 people. Most of the people living here were White (about 76%), and a significant number were African American (about 18%). There were also smaller groups of Native American, Asian, and Pacific Islander people, as well as people from other backgrounds. About 2% of the population identified as Hispanic or Latino.

The average age of people living in this area was around 35 years old. About a quarter of the population was under 18, and about 11% were 65 or older. Families were common, with many married couples living together.

The average income for a household in this area was about $35,034 per year in 2000. For families, the average income was a bit higher, around $40,617.
