He has good technique and is good at scoring goals. Lozano's shooting and crossing skills have led to many goals and assists for his clubs and country.
He is known for being an "inverted winger." This means he plays on the left side but often cuts inside to shoot with his strong right foot. He is also good at creating chances for his teammates. He can cross the ball with his left foot if he goes down the line. Lozano also works hard on defense. He is fast and presses opponents when they have the ball. This often helps his team win the ball back quickly.
Lozano is smaller in size and plays in an agile way. Because of this, he is often fouled by opposing players. He has been criticized for getting too many red cards. He received eight red cards at a young age: five with Pachuca, one with the Mexico U-23 team, and two in his first season at PSV.
He has been compared to the Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez because of his playing style and personality. Lozano has said that Rafael Márquez and Damián Álvarez were players he looked up to when he was growing up.
