Jollibee is the largest fast-food chain brand in the Philippines, operating a network of more than 1,400 stores. A dominant market leader in the Philippines, Jollibee enjoys the lion’s share of the local market that is more than all the other multinational fastfood brands in PH combined. The company has also embarked on an aggressive international expansion plan, with more than 270 international branches in the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Macau, Brunei, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Italy, and in the United Kingdom.
History
Jollibee started out in Manila in the late 1970s, and by the mid 1980s, they were dominating the local market. Jollibee opened their first international branch in Taiwan in 1986 and their first US location in Daly City, California in 1988. There are now over 1,300 Jollibee locations world-wide, mostly in areas with a large Filipino population. Jollibee was started by Tony Tan Caktiong, the son of immigrants from southeast China, who rose from humble beginnings to become self-made billionaire and Jollibee, a fast-food brand recognized world-wide, has become a Filipino success story.
