Power Rangers Dino Charge and its second season Power Rangers Dino Super Charge are exciting American TV shows for kids that aired on Nickelodeon. These shows are part of the popular Power Rangers series from 2015 and 2016. The story follows a team of brave Power Rangers: Tyler Navarro (Brennan Mejia), Shelby Watkins (Camille Hyde), Koda the caveman (Yoshi Sudarso), Riley Griffin (Michael Taber), and Chase Randall (James Davies). Their big mission is to protect Earth from a mean alien bounty hunter named Sledge. He wants to find special powerful items called Energems to become super strong!
Later, more heroes join the team: Sir Ivan of Zandar (Davi Santos), a knight from long ago; Prince Phillip III (Jarred Blakiston), a modern prince; Kendall Morgan (Claire Blackwelder), their smart tech expert; Tyler's dad, James (Reuben Turner, Dan Musgrove); and Keeper's student, Zenowing. They all become Power Rangers to stop Sledge. But then, Sledge's former prisoner, Heckyl (Ryan Carter), turns into an even more powerful villain called Snide. He wants to finish Sledge's evil plans and take over Earth!
Main Characters
Dino Charge Power Rangers
The Dino Charge Rangers are based at the Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum. Their special powers come from ten amazing Energems. These Energems are linked to the spirits of dinosaurs, which turn into giant robot helpers called Zords. The Rangers use these Zords to fight huge monsters. At first, they only have five Energems, and their main goal is to find the other five before their enemies do!
In battles, the Rangers use a tool called the Dino Charge Morpher, which can also be a gun. They also have the Dino Saber, which can combine with the Morpher to make the Dino Blade Blaster. Plus, they use special battery-like Dino Chargers to get extra powers.
Tyler Navarro is the energetic and adventurous leader of the Dino Charge Power Rangers. He works as a chef at the museum's restaurant, the Dino Bite Cafe. Tyler is also searching for his dad, who disappeared ten years ago during a dinosaur dig. Tyler's search leads him to a cave where he finds the Red Energem inside a Tyrannosaurus fossil. This makes him the Red Dino Charge Ranger!
As the Red Ranger, Tyler uses a special glove called the T-Rex Smasher. With the T-Rex Super Charger and T-Rex Super Charge Morpher, Tyler can power up into T-Rex Super Charge Mode. In this mode, he can use the awesome powers of the Dino Charge Megazord.
Brennan Mejia plays Tyler Navarro. Brennan was a big fan of Power Rangers before joining the show. He even worked as an acrobat at the San Diego Zoo!
Shelby Watkins, the Pink Ranger
Shelby Watkins works as a waitress at the Dino Bite Cafe. She might seem a bit clumsy, but she's actually very determined and loves dinosaurs, especially the Triceratops. One day, she sneaks onto a museum truck going to a dig site. There, she finds the Pink Energem and becomes the Pink Dino Charge Ranger!
Shelby also has a crush on Tyler, and he likes her too by the end of the series. She sometimes disagrees with her boss, Dr. Kendall Morgan, but they learn to work together. Shelby even impresses Dr. Morgan by using her dinosaur knowledge to help the team, like building a device to find Energems or creating the Spino Zord.
As the Pink Dino Charge Ranger, Shelby uses the Tricera Drill.
Camille Hyde plays Shelby Watkins. Camille is the first African-American woman to play a Pink Power Ranger! She trained in martial arts for the role and even continued her college studies online while filming in New Zealand.
Koda, the Blue Ranger
Koda is a kind Neanderthal caveman who found the Blue Energem 100,000 years ago inside a Stegosaurus fossil. After saving his little brother, Taku, from a saber-toothed tiger, Koda fell off a cliff and got frozen in a glacier. The Energem's power kept him alive!
In the present day, Chase and Dr. Morgan find and unfreeze Koda. He slowly learns about modern life and technology, speaking in short sentences. He becomes a digger for the museum, a dishwasher at the cafe, and the Blue Dino Charge Ranger.
In battle, Koda is super strong and has amazing reflexes and senses. As the Blue Dino Charge Ranger, he uses the Stego Shield.
Yoshi Sudarso plays Koda. Yoshi was a huge Power Rangers fan as a kid. He even got his castmates hooked on the Japanese show Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, which Dino Charge is based on!
Chase Randall, the Black Ranger
Chase Randall is a relaxed and friendly young man from New Zealand. He works at the Amber Beach Museum as a janitor and a skilled digger. Before meeting the other Rangers, he got the Black Energem from a Māori fortune-teller named Moana. He earned it by saving her cat! This Energem allows him to become the Black Dino Charge Ranger. He often takes charge when Tyler isn't around.
As the Black Dino Charge Ranger, Chase is great at fighting with firearms. He uses the Para Chopper beam gun.
James Davies plays Chase Randall. He enjoyed learning how to do cool tricks with the blaster prop during filming.
Riley Griffin, the Green Ranger
Riley Griffin is the calm, smart, and youngest member of the Dino Charge Rangers. He used to live on a farm, where he found the Green Energem and became the Green Dino Charge Ranger. After that, he moved to Amber Beach and became a summer intern at the museum and a waiter at the Dino Bite Cafe.
In battle, Riley is an expert swordsman. He has a unique fighting style where he holds his sword with a backhanded grip. As the Green Dino Charge Ranger, he also uses the Raptor Claw.
Michael Taber plays Riley Griffin. He said his favorite episode was when his character first became a Power Ranger.
Kendall Morgan, the Purple Ranger
Kendall Morgan is a confident and direct scientist. She manages the Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum and leads its paleontology digging team. She's also the Rangers' technical advisor. Before the series, she met Keeper and promised to help him find the Energems. She built an underground lab that became the Rangers' headquarters and created many gadgets and weapons for them.
When Sledge's forces steal the Purple Energem and kidnap Keeper, Kendall bravely sneaks onto Sledge's ship to rescue Keeper. During this mission, she bonds with the Purple Energem and becomes the Purple Dino Charge Ranger!
Claire Blackwelder plays Kendall Morgan.
Sir Ivan of Zandar, the Gold Ranger
Sir Ivan of Zandar is a kind, brave, and loyal medieval knight. He served the royal family of Zandar 800 years ago. While protecting young Prince Colin, Sir Ivan found the Gold Energem. But then, Fury attacked him, absorbed him, and kept him prisoner. In the present, Fury uses Sir Ivan and the Gold Energem to control the Ptera Zord against the Rangers. Eventually, Sir Ivan escapes and becomes the Gold Dino Charge Ranger!
At first, he doesn't want to join the Rangers because he thinks they aren't worthy. But after they save him, he finally joins their team.
As the Gold Dino Charge Ranger, he uses the Gold Ptera Morpher on his arm to transform. He also wields the Gold Ptera Saber.
Davi Santos plays Sir Ivan. His castmates had a hard time keeping his role a secret before his character appeared on the show!
Zords
The Zords are giant dinosaur-like machines that the Rangers can call upon. They fight huge enemies and can combine to form even bigger robots called Megazords.
- T-Rex Zord: This is Tyler's Zord. It forms the main body of most of the Rangers' Megazords.
- Tricera Zord: This is Shelby's Zord. It has a drill for a tail.
- Stego Zord: This is Koda's Zord. It has a sword on its back.
- Raptor Zord: This is Riley's Zord. It has a triple-bladed sword on its tail.
- Para Zord: This is Chase's Zord. It has a rifle for a tail.
- Ptera Zord: This is Sir Ivan's Zord. It can use electricity and transform into the Ptera Charge Megazord.
- Ankylo Zord: This is James' Zord. It has a hammer for a tail.
- Pachy Zord: This is Prince Phillip's Zord. It has a flail for a tail.
- Plesio Zord: This is Dr. Morgan's Zord. It can fly, go underwater, and even travel in space! It can also transform into the Plesio Charge Megazord.
- Titano Zord: This is Zenowing's Zord. It can use all the powers of the Rangers' Dino Chargers and transform into the Titano Charge Megazord.
- Spino Zord: This is an extra Zord that Shelby created. It has a boomerang on its back fin.

Other Important Characters
Keeper
Keeper is a wise, dinosaur-like alien. He brought the Energems to Earth 65 million years ago to keep them safe from Sledge. He told a Tyrannosaurus to gather dinosaurs and other ancient creatures to bond with the Energems. He also tricked Fury into taking a bomb to Sledge, which caused Sledge's ship to release asteroids. This led to the extinction of the dinosaurs.
Even though Keeper seemed to die, Kendall found him later. He guided her to help him gather the Energems for Sledge's return and advises the Rangers.
Richard Simpson voices Keeper, and Eve Gordon is the suit actor.
Sledge
Sledge is a mean space bounty hunter who loves capturing monsters. 65 million years ago, he chased Keeper to get the Energems, but Keeper tricked him with a bomb. This caused Sledge's ship to crash into deep space. In the present, Sledge returns and sends his captured monsters to find the Energems for him.
After many tries, he gets the Purple Energem and kidnaps Keeper. But the Rangers rescue Keeper, take back the Energem, and make Sledge's ship crash on Earth. Sledge then fakes his death and uses Heckyl and Snide to distract the Rangers while he plants Greenzilla eggs around the world. He plans to use the Greenzillas to pull Earth to another planet! But the Rangers travel back in time and defeat a past version of Sledge, stopping his evil plans for good.
Adam Gardiner voices Sledge.
Wrench
Wrench is Sledge's clumsy but nasty robot technician. He looks like a wind-up toy and fights with a battle axe. He created Curio for Poisandra and a machine to bring destroyed monsters back to life. Wrench is loyal to Sledge until the very end.
Estevez Gillespie voices Wrench.
Fury
Fury is Sledge's bad-tempered second-in-command. He looks like a lion and an Oni (a type of Japanese demon). He fights with a lightning sword. Fury was stranded on Earth for 65 million years after accidentally bringing the bomb onto Sledge's ship. He spent that time trying to get revenge on Keeper and find the Energems, even capturing Sir Ivan.
Fury continues to try and steal the Energems for Sledge, even after Sir Ivan escapes. He is a fierce fighter for Sledge.
Paul Harrop voices Fury.
Poisandra
Poisandra is Sledge's vain and silly fiancé. She has a heart theme and mostly cares about marrying Sledge. His quest for the Energems often makes her upset. Sledge eventually marries her during his plan to tow Earth away.
Jackie Clarke voices Poisandra.
Curio
Curio is a rag doll/scarecrow-themed friend that Wrench made for Poisandra as a wedding gift. He's always by her side but also helps Sledge's team.
Estevez Gillespie voices Curio.
Vivix
The Vivix are Sledge's basic foot soldiers. They look like paramecium (tiny single-celled creatures). They can combine to form bigger monsters called Vivizords to fight the Rangers' Zords.
Spikeballs
The Spikeballs are Sledge's tough, elite foot soldiers and prison guards. They look like ancient Arthropods and fight with batons.
Campbell Cooley voices the Spikeballs.
Prince Phillip III of Zandar
Prince Phillip III is the modern-day prince of Zandar. He meets the Rangers when he learns they have an exhibit with Zandarian property. After being attacked by Fury and seeing the Rangers in action, Prince Phillip is inspired to find an Energem himself. He uses his wealth to find the Graphite Energem.
Even though he learns martial arts and gives to charity, he first struggles to bond with it. But after saving Chase's sister, Chloe, from Sledge's forces, he successfully becomes the Graphite Dino Charge Ranger!
As the Graphite Dino Charge Ranger, he can do a special move called the Royal Dino Punch. This lets him summon an energy flail to make his punches super powerful.
Jarred Blakiston plays Phillip.
Heckyl and Snide
Heckyl is a humanoid alien from the planet Sentai 6. He was transformed into the monster Snide when he touched the Dark Energem while protecting it. This transformation made him forget his past.
Heckyl and Snide were prisoners on Sledge's ship. Sledge releases Heckyl to help him get the Purple Energem. After Sledge's supposed death, Heckyl and Snide try to take over Earth. Heckyl also tries to trick the Rangers by pretending to be their friend and joining them. But the Rangers find out his true intentions because he can't control when he transforms into Snide.
Later, Heckyl helps the Rangers defeat Snide and the Dark Energem. After helping the Rangers stop a past version of Sledge, Heckyl becomes a new Keeper, tasked with protecting a past version of the Dark Energem.
Ryan Carter plays Heckyl, and Campbell Cooley voices Snide.
James Navarro is Tyler's long-lost father. He bonded with the Aqua Energem while saving his friend Rusty during a cave-in. This made him the Aqua Dino Charge Ranger and stopped him from aging! Because the Energem attracted Fury, James had to hide for ten years to protect his family.
In the present, James returns to protect his son from a monster called Ninja. He also helps Tyler break free from a corrupted Dino Charger. After this, James leaves to find the Silver Energem and Titano Zord before Sledge's forces do.
Reuben Turner plays James Navarro, and Dan Musgrove voices him.
Lord Arcanon
Lord Arcanon is a power-hungry and mean space warlord who looks like a Statue of Liberty. He hired Sledge to capture outlaws to build an army. Millions of years ago, he searched for the Energems on planet Sentai 6, destroying it in the process. He forced Zenowing and Heckyl to hold the Dark Energem, which created Doomwing and Snide.
In the present, Arcanon sends Singe to spy on Heckyl and Snide. He eventually comes to Earth to take over Sledge's forces. Arcanon uses the Dark Energem to become super strong, but the Rangers manage to weaken him. Sledge then takes the Dark Energem from Arcanon and destroys him and his allies.
Andy Grainger voices Lord Arcanon.
Singe
Singe is an arrogant, pyrokinetic (fire-controlling) monster who looks like a candle. He fights with a gun that turns into a sword. He pretends to join Heckyl and Snide but secretly reports their actions to Lord Arcanon. He also has a rivalry with Fury.
Singe eventually returns with Arcanon to help him get the Energems, but they are both destroyed by Sledge.
Mark Mitchinson voices Singe.
Doomwing
Doomwing is a cocky and tricky Archaeopteryx-themed alien. He is a servant of Lord Arcanon and the evil half of Zenowing, created by the Dark Energem. Doomwing uses his connection to Zenowing and the Silver Energem to pretend to be the Silver Ranger. He tries to trick the other Rangers into giving him information about their technology.
However, the Rangers discover the truth and use special devices to separate Doomwing from Zenowing. Doomwing is eventually destroyed by Zenowing.

Zenowing, the Silver Ranger
Zenowing is an Archaeopteryx-like alien and Keeper's student. After finding the Silver Energem, Lord Arcanon forced Zenowing to hold the Dark Energem. This created an evil personality called Doomwing, who was loyal to Arcanon. Zenowing comes to Earth and manages to gain enough control to warn the Rangers about Doomwing.
The Rangers build a device to separate Zenowing from his evil side. This allows him to return to Keeper and warn him about the Dark Energem.
Unlike the other Rangers, Zenowing uses a different Morpher called the Titano Charge Morpher and the Titano Saber.
Guest Characters
- Outlaws: These are monsters that Sledge captured from all over the universe. Sledge and his team offer them freedom if they fight the Power Rangers and get the Energems. To make a monster grow giant, Sledge uses his Magnabeam.
- Iceage (voiced by Gerald Urquhart) - An ice-themed monster with powerful ice attacks. He is destroyed by the Rangers' Megazords multiple times.
- Scrapper (voiced by Jeff Szusterman) - A car crusher-themed monster who can shoot lasers.
- Slammer (voiced by Nic Sampson) - A prison-themed monster who can trap people in laser cages.
- Spellbinder (voiced by Callum Stembridge) - A raven/bank vault-themed monster who can shoot feather arrows and block attacks with his cape.
- Cavity (voiced by Kelson Henderson) - A pastry chef-themed monster who can cause painful toothaches.
- Stingrage (voiced by Peter Daube) - A virus/devil-themed monster whose stinger can make people go wild.
- Duplicon (voiced by Paolo Rotonda) - A monster who can turn people into clones of others.
- Puzzler (voiced by Phil Brown) - A maze-themed monster who is great at games.

- Meteor (voiced by Stephen Butterworth) - A meteoroid-themed monster who attacks with meteors.
- Wish Star (voiced by Ross Girven) - A Tanabata-themed monster who can grant wishes, but they always go wrong.
- Greenzilla - A giant, powerful dinosaur/plant-themed monster. Sledge places its eggs around the world.
- Nightmare (voiced by Jacque Drew) - A sheep-themed monster who can control dreams and make people fall asleep with pillows.
- Ninja (voiced by Adrian Smith) - A super-fast, sword-wielding namesake-themed monster.
- Hunter (voiced by Jay Simon) - A crossbow-wielding monster who is good at hunting.
- Game Face (voiced by Michael Saccente) - A sports equipment-themed monster with an explosive bat.
- Spell Digger (voiced by Scott Wills) - A monster made from parts of Gold Digger and Spellbinder. He can make people greedy.
- Half-Bake (voiced by Kevin Keys) - An Autumn-themed monster who is Heckyl's chef.
- Hookbeard (voiced by Mark Wright) - A fishing-themed monster with a pirate personality.
- Scumlaw (voiced by Jason Hood) - A prosecutor-themed monster who traps Rangers in a fake court.
- Leisure (voiced by Penny Ashton) - A summer-themed monster who can make humans lazy with her Vacation Beam.
- Loafer (voiced by Aaron Ward) - Leisure's twin brother, also a summer-themed monster.
- Professor Strickler (voiced by Emmett Skilton) - A classroom-themed monster who can switch people's bodies.
- Badussa (voiced by Ross Girven) - A dog/knight-themed monster who can turn anyone to stone.
- Heximas (voiced by Andrew Laing) - A Christmas-themed monster who turns people into evil elves.
- G-BO: A robot created by Prince Phillip to help him train. Fury reprogrammed it to fight the Rangers.
- Albert Smith: (Portrayed by Arthur Ranford) A kind explorer from New Zealand. He found the Purple Energem and became the Purple Dino Charge Ranger for a short time. He used his powers for good deeds but gave up the Energem because he wasn't a fighter and didn't want to leave New Zealand.
- Beauticruel (voiced by Marissa Stott) - A monster created by Poisandra from a female Vivix. She can weaken victims and make others fall in love with her.
- Fortress - A giant robot created by Wrench to learn the Rangers' Megazord moves.
- Conductro and Screech (voiced by Kevin Keys) - A pair of music-themed monsters. Conductro can control things with his baton, and Screech's trumpet can turn people into zombies.
