New Cities and Explorations
- On February 2, a Spanish explorer named Pedro de Mendoza started a new city. He founded Buenos Aires in what is now Argentina. This was an important step in the history of South America.

Changes in England
- England saw many changes in its royal family. On May 19, Anne Boleyn, who was the second wife of King Henry VIII, was executed.
