TOSFED İstanbul Park is a famous race track located in Tuzla, Istanbul, Turkey. It's a special place where many exciting motor sports events happen. The track was designed by a well-known architect named Hermann Tilke and first opened in August 2005.
Some people, like former Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone, have even called it "the best race track in the world"! The track has had different operators over the years. Since June 2025, the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation has been in charge of running İstanbul Park.

About İstanbul Park
İstanbul Park is located on the Asian side of Istanbul. It's close to a major motorway that connects Istanbul to Ankara. You can also find it near Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. The area around the track is full of forests and open fields.
Unique Track Design
One cool thing about İstanbul Park is that it's an anti-clockwise track. This means drivers turn left more often than right. Most race tracks go clockwise. This unusual layout makes drivers use different neck muscles, especially in a long, fast left turn called Turn 8.
The track is about 5.3 kilometers (3.3 miles) long. It has 14 corners and changes height in four different places. The main straight part of the track is over 650 meters (710 yards) long.
Spectator Experience
İstanbul Park can hold a huge crowd, about 125,000 people! The main grandstand alone has seats for 25,000 fans. There are also natural hillsides and temporary stands for many more spectators.
The buildings where the racing teams work have two floors. The ground floor is for the teams, and the upper floor is for hospitality. There are even two tall VIP towers at each end of the team area.
Famous Corners
Turn 8 is a very famous part of the track. Drivers and fans call it "Diabolica" because it's a fast, sweeping corner with four different turning points. It's often compared to legendary corners on other tracks, like Eau Rouge. This corner puts a lot of stress on the car's tires, making them wear out quickly.
Another interesting corner is Turn 1. It's a sharp left turn that goes downhill right after the main straight. Some people call it the "Turkish Corkscrew." Many exciting moments and even crashes have happened here in past races. There's also an uphill bend in the middle of the back straight, jokingly called "Faux Rouge."
Some drivers have mentioned that the track can get bumpy, especially at Turn 8. This can make it tricky for cars to stay on the track.
Exciting Motorsport Events
Formula One Races
The very first Turkish Grand Prix for Formula One cars happened in 2005. These races were held regularly until 2011. After a break, Formula One returned to İstanbul Park in 2020 and 2021.
Famous drivers like Felipe Massa have won here many times. Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button, Kimi Räikkönen, and Valtteri Bottas have also won races at this track.

İstanbul Park has hosted many other big racing events.
