Jadon Malik Sancho (born on March 25, 2000) is a talented English footballer. He plays as a winger, which means he plays on the sides of the field. Currently, he is on loan to Premier League club Chelsea from Manchester United.

Jadon started his football journey in youth teams at Watford and Manchester City. He then signed his first professional contract with Borussia Dortmund in Germany in 2017. During his time there, he played 137 games and helped his team win the 2019 DFL-Supercup and the 2020–21 DFB-Pokal. He was even the top scorer in the DFB-Pokal tournament that season!

In 2021, Sancho moved back to England to play for Manchester United. He won the EFL Cup with them. Later, he went back to Dortmund for a loan spell and even reached the 2024 UEFA Champions League final.

Jadon also played for the England youth team that won the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He made his debut for the senior team in 2018 and played in the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament.

About Jadon's Early Life

Jadon Malik Sancho was born in Camberwell, London, on March 25, 2000. His mother is from Trinidad and Tobago, and his father has roots in Jamaica and Guyana. He grew up in Kennington.

As a child, Jadon became friends with another future footballer, Reiss Nelson, because they played in youth tournaments together. Jadon was a big fan of Chelsea and looked up to players like Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard. His biggest inspiration was Ronaldinho. In 2018, he told Sky Sports that watching Ronaldinho on YouTube really influenced him because Ronaldinho did things no one else did.

Jadon joined Watford when he was just seven years old. Traveling across London to the club's academy was tough. So, at age 11, he moved into special housing provided by Watford and attended their partner school, Harefield Academy. When he was 14, he told his coach that he wanted to play for England.

At 14, in March 2015, he moved to Manchester City. City paid £66,000 for him, which could go up to £500,000 later. Jadon continued to impress in City's youth academy. In 2017, City's chairman even said Jadon would quickly join the senior team. However, Jadon was left out of City's pre-season tour because he wanted to be sure he would get playing time if he signed a new contract. He then tried to leave the club.

Playing for Borussia Dortmund

First Years in Germany (2017–2019)

On August 31, 2017, Jadon signed with Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in Germany for about £8 million. He was immediately part of their main team. Jadon felt confident moving abroad because he had already moved for Watford and Manchester City.

He scored his first professional goal on April 21 in a 4–0 win against Bayer Leverkusen. He also helped set up two other goals in that game.
