List of tallest buildings in British Columbia facts for kids
Welcome to the world of super tall buildings in British Columbia, Canada! This page will show you a list of the highest skyscrapers and tall buildings in the province. We'll look at buildings in six different cities: Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Surrey, and Kelowna. Each of these cities has buildings that are taller than 100 meters (about 328 feet)!
The very tallest building in British Columbia right now is the Living Shangri-La in Vancouver. It has 62 floors and stands 201 meters (659 feet) high.
In Vancouver, there's a special rule: buildings can't be taller than 200 meters (656 feet) above sea level. This rule helps make sure people can still see the beautiful Pacific Ranges mountains from the city. Even with this rule, Vancouver has many tall buildings for its size. It's one of the most crowded cities in North America and has more tall homes than almost any other city on the continent!
But in Burnaby, there are no strict height limits for buildings. They just need to make sure the whole area isn't too crowded.
Across the region, many tall buildings are built close to SkyTrain stations. This creates "transit hubs" where people can easily get around using public transport. It also helps stop cities from spreading out too much. Because of this, many suburbs are now building their own city centers with tall buildings for homes, offices, and shops.

Meet the Tallest Buildings
This list shows buildings in British Columbia that are at least 100 meters (328 feet) tall. We measure their height using special rules that include spires and cool architectural parts, but not antennas. If you see an equal sign (=) next to a rank, it means two or more buildings are the same height!
