The Ñuble Province (which in Spanish is Provincia de Ñuble) used to be a part of the Bío Bío Region in Chile. Its main city and capital was Chillán.

It was the second largest province in the Bío Bío region. It was also the second most populated, after the Concepción province.

The Ñuble Province was created in 1974. Later, in 2018, it changed and became the Ñuble Region, which is a bigger type of area in Chile.

The Ñuble Province was in the northern part of the Bío Bío Region. It covered an area of about 13,178.5 square kilometers (5,088 square miles). The capital city, Chillán, is about 400 kilometers (249 miles) south of Santiago, which is the capital city of Chile.

How Ñuble Province was managed

As a province, Ñuble was a second-level administrative division in Chile. It was made up of 21 smaller areas called communes (comunas). The city of Chillán was the capital of the province. A governor was in charge of running the province.
