New Empires and Rulers
- Timur became the ruler of Samarkand. This city is now in a country called Uzbekistan. Timur would later build a huge empire across Asia.
- In China, a new leader named Zhu Yuanzhang started the Ming Dynasty. He is also known as the Hongwu Emperor. The Ming Dynasty replaced the Mongol Yuan Dynasty, which had ruled China for a long time.
