Rebellions and Changes
- On May 8, people from Kent, a region in England, started a big protest. They were unhappy with King Henry VI. This kind of protest is called a revolt.
- By June 18, the king's soldiers pushed the protesters out of London. This made the protest end.
- It was very unusual, but wolves were seen in Paris, France. They caused problems for the people living there. This shows how wild some areas still were, even near big cities.
- The Age of Discovery officially began around this time. This was a period when European explorers started sailing to new parts of the world. They discovered new lands and sea routes.
Changes in the Maya World
- A big revolt happened in the Yucatán area. This revolt ended the rule of a city called Mayapan. Mayapan had been in charge of many other Maya cities for a long time. After this, the Maya region became divided into smaller states.

- Bartolomeu Dias was born in Portugal. He grew up to be a famous explorer. He was one of the first Europeans to sail around the southern tip of Africa. This was a very important journey for future sea travel. He died in 1500.
