Abhijeet Bhattacharya (born 30 October 1958), known as Abhijeet, is a famous Indian playback singer. He mostly sings in the Hindi film industry. He has also sung in many other languages. These include his native language Bengali, plus Marathi, Nepali, Tamil, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, and Odia. He has sung over 6,000 songs in more than 1,000 movies!

Early Life and Beginnings
Abhijeet was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He grew up in a Bengali Brahmin family. He was the youngest of four children.
He started singing on stage when he was just 12 years old, in 1970. After finishing college in 1977, he moved to Mumbai in 1981. He wanted to become a professional singer in Bollywood.
Singing in Movies
Abhijeet's singing career began with help from famous music director R. D. Burman. He sang his first duet song with the legendary Asha Bhosle. He also performed in stage shows with R. D. Burman.
Popular Songs of the 1990s
Abhijeet became very popular in the 1990s. He sang many hit songs for famous movies. Some of these films include Baadshah, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, and Darr. He was often called the "Voice of SRK" because he sang many songs for actor Shah Rukh Khan.
He also sang in many "Khiladi" movies. These include Khiladi, Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi, and Main Khiladi Tu Anari. His voice was a big part of the music of that time.
Hits in the 2000s and Beyond
Abhijeet continued to sing popular songs in the 2000s. He sang for films like Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Dhoom. His song "Dilbara" from Dhoom was a big hit.
He also sang "Dhoom Taana" with Shreya Ghoshal for the movie Om Shanti Om. Later, he sang for Ranbir Kapoor in the film Besharam. The song was "Dil ka jo haal hai."

Abhijeet has been a judge on several TV reality shows. These shows help find new singing talent.
