Emmanuel Kellam Olaniyan, born on November 27, 1997, is a fun Nigerian-British comedian and TV host. Most people know him as Eman Kellam. He's famous for hosting shows and for his own YouTube series called British Slang With Eman Kellam.
About Eman Kellam
Early Life and Education
Eman grew up in South London, England. His parents are from Nigeria. He went to Forest Hill School and then studied Broadcasting at The BRIT School. This school is famous for helping young people learn about performing arts and technology.
Starting Out on YouTube
Eman started his YouTube channel, "EmansBlogs," in 2012. He made videos from his kitchen, talking about popular topics. His channel really took off in 2014 with a video called "Pranking My African Dad." In this video, 16-year-old Eman pranked his dad.
This prank video became super popular, getting over 500 million views across the internet. It was even shared on big sites like WorldStarHipHop. Eman and his dad are often seen as important figures in African meme culture because of this funny video.
Working with French Montana
On November 5, 2016, the famous rapper French Montana released his album MC4. Eman and his father were featured on the album in a short skit called "Check Come". This skit was taken from Eman's famous "Pranking My African Dad" video.
TV Shows and BBC Work
In January 2016, Eman appeared on the CBBC Channel in a show called Lifebabble. This show was even nominated for a Scottish BAFTA award!
In February 2018, Eman became a guest presenter on the CBBC Channel. He helped promote "BBC Own It," a new online learning tool for kids aged 9-12. This tool teaches kids about growing up in the digital world. Eman made several more guest appearances on CBBC shows.
YouTube Black Voices
In January 2021, YouTube announced its first "YouTube Black Voices Class of 2021." Eman was chosen as one of the UK members!
Some members of this group were also featured in the September 2021 issue of British Vogue. British Vogue said that these creators are "the new figureheads in the making to follow."
TikTok's "Ones To Watch"
In October 2024, TikTok named Eman as one of their "Creators To Watch" for Black History Month. TikTok praised these creators for using their creativity to celebrate Black culture.
British Slang With Eman Kellam
Eman is very well known for his "British Slang With Eman Kellam" series on his YouTube channel. In this series, he asks mostly American actors to guess the meaning of common British slang words. These words are often part of "Multicultural London English," also known as MLE.
Many famous people have been on the show, including Gabrielle Union, Denzel Washington, Childish Gambino, Regina Hall, Keke Palmer, Daniel Kaluuya, and Issa Rae.

Eman Kellam & Friends
On December 14, 2024, Eman started a new show called "Eman Kellam & Friends." It's a spin-off of his "British Slang" series. In this show, he chats with Hollywood actors in short videos on TikTok and Instagram.
