Hunt County is a place in the state of Texas, USA. In 2020, about 99,956 people lived there. Its main city, or county seat, is Greenville. The county is named after Memucan Hunt, Jr.. He was an important person in the early days of the Republic of Texas, serving as a minister and a secretary. Hunt County is in Northeast Texas, near the big cities of Dallas and Fort Worth.

Hunt County is part of the large Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington area. East of the county, you'll find the start of the Piney Woods, which is a forest region. The county covers about 882 square miles (2,280 km2) in total. Most of this area, about 840 square miles (2,200 km2), is land. The rest, about 42 square miles (110 km2), is covered by water.

Hunt County has a public transportation service called "the Connection." It operates Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 7 PM. You need to make a reservation one day in advance to use it.
The cost is $2 for a one-way trip within the same city or community, or $4 for a round trip. If you travel from one city to another within Hunt County, it costs $3 one-way or $6 round trip. The Connection also offers round trips to Dallas for $34, but at least three passengers are needed for this service.
