Rodney Wallace (born November 21, 1981) is an American mixed martial artist. He competed in the Heavyweight division. He was a professional fighter from 2008 to 2017. Rodney Wallace fought for major organizations like the UFC and Bellator. He also competed in the MFC and M-1 Global.

Rodney Wallace's Early Life and Sports
Rodney Wallace was born in Bamberg, South Carolina. When he was one year old, his family moved to Passaic, New Jersey. At age 13, he moved back to his birthplace. This is when he started playing football and wrestling.
High School Sports Achievements
At Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School, Wallace was a star in three sports. He played football, wrestled, and competed in track and field. In wrestling, he quickly became very good. He reached the state tournament in his first year. Then, he won the South Carolina state championship three years in a row. He won in his sophomore, junior, and senior years.
College Football Career
After high school, Rodney Wallace received a scholarship. He went to NCAA Division II Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina. There, he continued his football career. From 2001 to 2004, he was an All-Conference running back. He finished his college career as the school's all-time leading rusher. This means he ran for more yards than any other player in the school's history.
Rodney Wallace's Mixed Martial Arts Career
Rodney Wallace began his professional mixed martial arts career in 2008. He fought in several different weight classes. These included Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, and Middleweight.
Fighting in the UFC
Rodney Wallace made his debut in the UFC in December 2009. He fought Brian Stann and lost by a decision. His next fight was at UFC 111 in March 2010. He faced Jared Hamman in a very exciting match. Both fighters landed many strong hits. Wallace lost this fight by a decision as well. However, their fight was so good that it won "Fight of the Night." This special award earned both fighters $65,000.
Wallace's last UFC fight was in August 2010. He fought Phil Davis and lost by decision. After this loss, the UFC decided to release him from their organization.
Fighting in Other Promotions
After leaving the UFC, Rodney Wallace continued to fight. He competed for many different groups.
Maximum Fighting Championship (MFC)
He won his first fight in the MFC against David Heath. But he lost his second MFC fight to Emanuel Newton.
Other Independent Fights
Wallace also fought in other events. He won against Cale Yarbrough in April 2011. In March 2012, he beat Derrick Mehmen by decision. Later that year, he fought Mamed Khalidov in Poland. He lost that fight by knockout in the first round. In August 2013, he had a draw (a tie) with Paulo Filho in Brazil.
Fighting in Bellator MMA
Rodney Wallace joined Bellator MMA in April 2014. He won his first fight there against Carlos Eduardo. However, he lost his next Bellator fight to Kelly Anundson in June 2014. A couple of months later, in August 2014, Bellator released him.
Fighting in Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB)
His last recorded MMA fight was in January 2017. He faced Shamil Gamzatov at ACB 51. Wallace lost this fight by a split decision.
Bare Knuckle Boxing Career
After his mixed martial arts career, Rodney Wallace tried bare knuckle boxing. This is a sport where fighters punch without gloves. In April 2017, he fought Marko Martinjak for a world title. The fight took place in Coventry, England. Wallace lost the fight in the first round. This happened because of a cut above his eye.
