What Might Happen in 2037?

Future Plans and Events

  • Some special documents about Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon will be made public. These papers show her ideas on how to keep the monarchy (a system with a king or queen) safe if the Nazis had taken over the UK. These documents are kept in the Royal Archives.
  • The Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) was a space telescope. It stopped working in 2007. Scientists believe it will keep going around Earth until about 2037. Then, it will fall into the atmosphere and burn up.
  • A new type of airplane, called the "2037 Bomber," is planned to start flying this year. This plane can fly very fast and is hard to see on radar. The US Air Force needs these new planes because their older ones will be too few by then.
  • Many developed countries (countries with strong economies) are expected to use much less fossil fuels by 2037. Fossil fuels are things like oil, coal, and natural gas. Instead, people will use cleaner energy sources like wind and solar power. Fossil fuels might mostly be used in the Middle East and developing countries (countries with growing economies).
  • The world's biggest mud volcano is in East Java, Indonesia. Scientists think it might stop erupting (shooting out mud) around this year.
