Energoprojekt holding began its journey on July 11, 1951. At first, it was a company that gave advice on building projects. Over time, it grew and started doing many different things. In 2007, Energoprojekt holding became a public company. This meant its shares could be bought and sold on the Belgrade Stock Exchange. Later that year, Energoprojekt sold its insurance part, called Energoprojekt Garant, to a company from Slovenia.
