All I Want for Christmas Is You, a Night of Joy and Festivity was a special series of concerts by American singer Mariah Carey. These shows were like a long-term musical event, often held in the same place each year. They started on December 15, 2014, and finished on December 15, 2019. Over these years, Mariah performed 56 shows across eight different tours, visiting many places around the world. The concerts mainly featured songs from her Christmas albums, Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas II You. She also sang some of her other popular songs.

About the Christmas Shows

How the Shows Started

Mariah Carey released her album Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse in May 2014. It quickly became popular, reaching number three on the Billboard 200 chart. Later that year, Mariah went on a concert tour called The Elusive Chanteuse Show. She performed in places like East Asia and Australia.

During her tour in Australia, Mariah shared exciting news. She announced that she would start a special Christmas concert series. These shows would happen every December at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan, New York City. This was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her first Christmas album, Merry Christmas, which came out in 1994. Her second Christmas album, Merry Christmas II You, was released in 2010. Mariah was very excited, saying she couldn't wait to celebrate with her fans during her favorite time of year.

How Well Did the Shows Do?

When tickets for the first shows went on sale in November 2014, they were very popular. Special pre-sale tickets were available first, followed by general sales. Because so many people wanted to see the shows, extra dates were added.

Billboard reported that all six of the first shows were completely sold out. Mariah performed for 16,196 people in total. These first shows earned over $1.5 million. In October 2015, new dates were announced for the Beacon Theatre, and tickets went on sale again.
