List of beaches in Sydney facts for kids
Sydney, Australia, is famous for its amazing beaches! This big city has more than 100 beaches. They stretch from Palm Beach in the north all the way to Garie Beach in the south. These beaches come in all sizes, from just a few meters long to several kilometers. You can find them along the Pacific Ocean coastline and inside Sydney's many harbours, bays, and rivers.
Sydney is special because it has so many great beaches. There are about 70 beaches perfect for surfing and many calm coves in the harbor. Even though lots of people visit them, the water and sand at Sydney's beaches are usually very clean. A program called Beach Watch started in 1989. It helps make sure the beaches stay clean and safe for everyone to enjoy.

Sydney's Ocean Beaches
Sydney's ocean beaches are very well-known around the world. Some of the most famous ones include Bondi, Coogee, Cronulla, and Manly. These ocean beaches are usually split into two main groups. The Northern Beaches are located north of the entrance to Sydney Harbour. The Southern Beaches are found in the Eastern Suburbs and Sutherland Shire areas.
Most beach suburbs have one main beach, but some have more. For example, Manly has eight different beaches! These range from the large 1.6 kilometer long Ocean Beach to the tiny Fairy Bower Beach.
