The Governor of Rajasthan is like the official head of the Indian state of Rajasthan. Think of them as a special representative of the President of India in the state. While the Governor has important duties, their powers are mostly ceremonial, meaning they perform official tasks and represent the state, but the main decisions are made by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister is the real leader of the state government.
Haribhau Kisanrao Bagade is the current Governor of Rajasthan. He has been in this role since July 31, 2024.

What is a Governor?
The Governor of an Indian state is appointed by the President of India. They act as a link between the central government and the state government. The Governor makes sure that the state government follows the rules of the Indian Constitution. They also have a role in appointing important officials in the state.
Rajpramukhs: Early Leaders (1948–1956)
Before Rajasthan became a full state with a Governor, it was formed by joining many princely states. The rulers of these states were called Rajpramukhs. They were the ceremonial heads during this early period.
