Hailee Puring Steinfeld (born December 11, 1996) is a talented American actress and singer. She became famous for her role in the movie True Grit (2010). This role earned her many awards and nominations, including for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award.
Hailee Steinfeld is also well-known for her parts in the Pitch Perfect film series (2015–2017). She also starred in The Edge of Seventeen (2016), which got her a Golden Globe Award nomination. She has appeared in movies like Ender's Game (2013) and Bumblebee (2018).

Hailee Steinfeld was born on December 11, 1996. Her birthplace was Tarzana, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. She is the younger of two children. Her mother, Cheri, is an interior designer. Her father, Peter Steinfeld, is a personal trainer. Hailee has an older brother named Griffin.
Her uncle is the famous fitness trainer and actor Jake Steinfeld. Her cousin, True O'Brien, is also an actress. When Hailee was eight, seeing her cousin in a TV commercial inspired her to try acting too.
Hailee's father is Jewish and her mother is Christian. She has shared that she celebrates both traditions. Her maternal grandfather had both Filipino and African-American heritage. Hailee grew up in Agoura Hills and later in Thousand Oaks, California. She attended different schools before being home-schooled from 2008 until she finished high school in June 2015.

Early Roles and True Grit
Hailee Steinfeld started acting when she was 10 years old. She appeared in several short films. One of these was She's a Fox, where she played Talia Alden.
When she was 13, Hailee was chosen for the role of Mattie Ross in True Grit. The movie came out in December 2010. Critics praised her performance. In 2011, Hailee Steinfeld was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. This was for her role in True Grit.
