Rivers by Drainage Basin

Rivers flow into larger rivers, lakes, or oceans. A "drainage basin" is like a giant bowl where all the rain and water from smaller streams collect and flow into one main river system. This list groups rivers by the larger basin they belong to. Rivers that are longer than 400 kilometers (about 250 miles) are shown in bold text. Smaller rivers that flow into a larger one are indented, like branches on a tree.

Atlantic Ocean Basin

Many of Peru's rivers flow eastward, eventually joining the mighty Amazon River and making their way to the Atlantic Ocean.
