Random! Cartoons was an American animated TV show. It was a special series that showed off new cartoon ideas. It was created by Fred Seibert. The show was made by Frederator Incorporated and Nickelodeon Animation Studio. It aired on Nicktoons.
This show was similar to Oh Yeah! Cartoons. It was the fourth time these studios tried out new cartoon ideas. Random! Cartoons first aired on December 6, 2008. The last episode was shown on December 20, 2009.
How the Show Was Made
The creator, Fred Seibert, ordered 13 full episodes for the series. Each episode had three short cartoons, making 39 shorts in total. Each short cartoon was about seven minutes long.
The show was first announced in 2005. It was supposed to be the fourth season of Oh Yeah! Cartoons. Work on the series started in 2005. It finished in 2006 or 2007.
The show was first planned to be released on Nickelodeon in 2006 or 2007. But it was later decided to air it in 2008. It was shown on the Nicktoons Network channel instead.
Unlike Oh Yeah! Cartoons, Random! Cartoons did not have a host. On January 10, 2006, a group called ASIFA-Hollywood showed six of the shorts early. They also had a question and answer session with the people who made the cartoons. This event took place at the Nicktoons Studios in Burbank, California.
Some of the shorts from Random! Cartoons became very popular. Two of them were chosen to become full TV series. One short became a web series. These successful shorts were Adventure Time, The Bravest Warriors, and Fanboy.
- Adventure Time started as a full series on April 5, 2010. It aired on Cartoon Network.
- The Bravest Warriors was renamed Bravest Warriors. It started airing on November 8, 2012, on Cartoon Hangover.
- Fanboy was renamed Fanboy & Chum Chum. It became a full series on November 7, 2009, on Nickelodeon.
