The 2000 UEFA European Football Championship, also known as Euro 2000, was a big football tournament in Europe. It was the 11th time this championship was held. The event happens every four years. It is organized by UEFA, which is the main group for football in Europe.

Euro 2000 was special because it was the first time two countries hosted it together. These countries were Belgium and the Netherlands. The games took place from June 10 to July 2, 2000. Sixteen national teams played in the final tournament. Only Belgium and the Netherlands got to play automatically because they were the hosts. All other teams had to win their way in through qualifying games.

France won the tournament! They played against Italy in the final game. France won 2–1 with a "golden goal." A golden goal meant the game ended as soon as one team scored in extra time. The final match was played at the King Baudouin Stadium.

His hair colors were a mix of the flag colors of Belgium and the Netherlands. The lion is a symbol for the Netherlands football team, and the devil is a symbol for Belgium's team, who are called "the Red Devils."
