DC Super Hero Girls is a popular American superhero series and franchise. It was created by Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Comics and first launched in 2015.
In 2017, DC announced that the DC Super Hero Girls would get a fresh new look, led by Lauren Faust. She had previously worked on shows like The Powerpuff Girls and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. This led to a brand new TV series with the same name, which started airing on Cartoon Network in March 2019. This newer series was inspired by Faust's earlier work, Super Best Friends Forever, but also kept some ideas from the original DC Super Hero Girls web show.
About Super Hero High
At Super Hero High School, famous DC heroes, both boys and girls, go to challenging classes. They also deal with all the normal ups and downs of growing up, but with the added challenge of having unique superpowers!
How it Started
The idea for DC Super Hero Girls was first announced in April 2015. The plan was to create a whole line of products, including books from Random House, Lego toys, and action figures from Mattel.
The Website
The official website for the series launched in July 2015. Some of the main characters featured at the start were Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Katana, and Bumblebee. Other well-known characters like Green Lantern, Flash, Cheetah, and Catwoman also appeared. Amanda Waller is the principal of Super Hero High. Many other DC Comics heroes and villains can be seen in the background.
