Queen Victoria ruled the British Empire for a very long time, from 1837 to 1901. Even though her empire was huge and covered lands all over the world, Queen Victoria herself never left Europe. She traveled to places like Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, and even a little bit into Spain.
Most of her trips were to Germany. This was because many of her family members lived there, and it was also where her husband, Prince Albert, was born. She also visited France often, especially for holidays later in her life. When she was married, she and Prince Albert usually traveled in late summer. After he passed away in the 1870s, she started traveling in the spring instead.
