Charles Daniel Bennett, born on November 23, 1979, is an American mixed martial artist. He competes in the featherweight division of Gamebred Fighting Championship. He has also been a bare-knuckle boxer for organizations like Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).
People know Charles for his exciting and unpredictable fighting style. He started his professional career in 1999. He has fought in many big organizations like PRIDE Fighting Championships and Rizin FF. Even though he hasn't won a major championship, many fans really enjoy watching him fight.

About Charles Bennett
Charles Bennett was born in Gainesville, Florida. He is one of 11 children in his family. He lived in Gainesville until he was eight years old. Then he moved to Ocala, Florida, to live with his father.
Growing up, Charles was very athletic. He was a talented football player in high school. He played different positions like running back and linebacker. Even though he was not very tall, he also played defensive lineman. Charles later left high school. He saw an advertisement for a mixed martial arts gym. He decided to join and his coaches were very impressed with his speed and strength. This is how he started focusing on mixed martial arts.
Mixed Martial Arts Career
Starting Out
Charles Bennett made his professional debut in September 1999. He was only 19 years old at the time. His first fight was in Atlanta, Georgia, in the lightweight division. He lost that fight by submission. A year later, he got his first win. He knocked out Todd Carney in the first round. This happened at a World Extreme Fighting event.
After that, Charles won two more fights by strikes. Then he made his King of the Cage debut. He fought Duane Ludwig and lost. Charles then won 9 of his next 10 fights. One of these wins was against U.S. Marine Gerald Strebendt. His winning streak ended when he lost to Takumi Nakayama.
Fighting in Japan and King of the Cage
With a record of 12 wins and 5 losses, Charles signed with a Japanese promotion called Pride Fighting Championships. His first fight there was in October 2004. He fought Takanori Gomi in Japan and lost.
After fighting a few times back in King of the Cage, Charles returned to Pride. In May 2005, he defeated Yoshiro Maeda by knockout. This win happened in less than two minutes.
In September, Charles fought again in Pride. He lost to Dokonjonosuke Mishima by submission. He then fought for the King of the Cage Bantamweight Championship. He lost to Urijah Faber. Charles then fought Ken Kaneko in Pride in December 2005. He won that fight by submission. After winning, he tackled the referee.
Charles Bennett's last fight for Pride was in June 2006. He fought Tatsuya Kawajiri and lost by submission. His record with Pride was 2 wins and 3 losses.
EliteXC and Other Projects
In February 2007, Charles Bennett joined EliteXC. He fought K. J. Noons at the first EliteXC event. Charles won that fight by knockout, which was a big surprise.
In 2004, Charles appeared in a film called Loren Cass. He was in it with other fighters, Din Thomas and Aaron Riley. In September 2010, he tried out for a TV show called The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck. However, he did not make it onto the show.
Return to MMA
After almost three years away, Charles Bennett returned to MMA in October 2015. He fought for King of the Cage again. In the next eleven months, he fought six times. He won four of those fights and lost two.
In September 2016, Charles fought for Rizin Fighting Federation in Japan. He competed in the featherweight division. He defeated Minoru Kimura by technical knockout in just 7 seconds. After the fight, Charles challenged Wanderlei Silva to a fight. This challenge became very popular online because of Charles's energetic personality.
Bare-Knuckle Fighting Career
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship
On August 25, 2018, Charles Bennett fought Michael McDonald in a Bare Knuckle FC event. He lost the fight in the fourth round.
He fought again in November 2019 against Johnny Bedford. Charles lost this fight in the second round due to a hand injury. His next bare-knuckle fight was in December 2020. He faced Tyler Goodjohn and lost by decision.
Gamebred Fighting Championship
On June 18, 2021, Charles Bennett fought Jason Knight in the main event of Jorge Masvidal's Gamebred Fighting Championship. This was an MMA fight but without gloves. Charles knocked down Knight early in the fight. However, he was later taken down and lost by submission in the first round.
In October 2021, Charles fought Rob Emerson at Gamebred FC 2. He lost that fight by knockout in the first round. After another loss, Charles faced Keith Speed at Gamebred FC 4 in May 2023. He lost that fight by submission in the third round.
Charles fought Joe Penafiel at Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA 7 on March 2, 2024. He lost this fight by technical knockout in the third round.
