As of 2015, there are over 3,000 of these historic sites in Pennsylvania. Every one of the 67 counties in Pennsylvania has at least one place listed on the National Register.

The numbers might change as more places are added or removed from the list. About 16% of these historic places in Pennsylvania are in Philadelphia. Also, almost 40% are found in the Delaware Valley area.
