Anastasia Rodionova (born May 12, 1982) is a former professional tennis player. She was born in Russia and later became an Australian citizen.
Anastasia won many tennis tournaments during her career. She won 11 doubles titles on the WTA Tour and 8 singles titles on the ITF Circuit. Her highest singles ranking was world No. 62 in 2010. She reached No. 15 in the doubles rankings in 2014.
Her best results were in doubles. She reached the mixed-doubles final at Wimbledon in 2003. She also made it to the semifinals of the women's doubles at the 2010 US Open.
Anastasia's younger sister, Arina Rodionova, is also a professional tennis player. The sisters sometimes played doubles together. They reached the finals of the 2010 Malaysian Open and 2015 Monterrey Open.

About Anastasia Rodionova
Anastasia started playing tennis when she was 7 years old. Her father, Ivan, was an amateur tennis player. He coached her until she was 18. She then moved to Germany to train for three years. In 2003, she returned to Moscow. Since 2005, she has lived in Melbourne, Australia. Her sister Arina also became a professional tennis player in 2004.
Tennis Career Highlights
Early Career: 2006–2007
In 2006, Anastasia entered the top 100 players for the first time. She reached the third round at the US Open. This was her best singles result at a Grand Slam at that time. In doubles, she reached a WTA final in India. She also won her 11th ITF title with her sister Arina.
In 2007, Anastasia played in many WTA tournaments. At the Australian Open, she lost to Maria Sharapova, who was ranked world No. 2. She won her second doubles title in Portugal. She ended the year ranked 78th in singles.
Challenges and Comeback: 2008–2009
Anastasia started 2008 with eye problems, causing double vision. She played under the Australian flag for the first time at the Australian Open. She had some good wins against top players. However, injuries started to affect her play in May 2008. She had major hip surgery in September 2008.
The first half of 2009 was slow as she recovered. She sprained her ankle in July. At the US Open, she reached the third round in singles. She finished 2009 back in the top 100, ranked No. 97.
Breakthrough Year: 2010
Anastasia started 2010 by reaching the doubles final in Brisbane. At the Australian Open, she reached the third round in doubles. She and her sister Arina reached the doubles final at the 2010 Malaysian Open.
She played for the Australian Fed Cup team for the first time. She helped Australia secure a spot in World Group I for 2011. At the French Open, she upset the 22nd seed Vera Zvonareva. She reached the third round before losing. At Wimbledon, she also reached the third round.
At the US Open, she and Cara Black reached the semifinals in doubles. This was her first Grand Slam semifinal. She reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 62 in August 2010.
Anastasia represented Australia at the Commonwealth Games. She won a gold medal in singles. She also won gold in women's doubles with Sally Peers. In mixed doubles, she won a silver medal. She finished 2010 ranked No. 64.
Continuing Success: 2011–2014
In 2011, Anastasia continued to play in many tournaments. She reached the quarterfinals in doubles at the Australian Open and French Open. She also made the quarterfinals in mixed doubles at the Australian Open.
In 2012, she won her fourth WTA doubles title in Thailand with Sania Mirza. She reached the third round in singles at the Family Circle Cup. At the US Open, she reached the quarterfinals in mixed doubles.
In 2013, she won her fifth WTA doubles title in Auckland with Cara Black. She continued to have strong doubles results.
In 2014, she partnered with Alla Kudryavtseva. They won three doubles tournaments together. They reached the semifinals at the WTA Finals in Singapore. This was a big achievement. Her best singles result in 2014 was reaching the second round at the US Open.
