The TV show Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue is all about heroes and villains who live on Earth. This series shows the exciting battles between the Lightspeed Rescue team and a group of powerful demons led by Queen Bansheera.

Lightspeed Rescue Power Rangers

The Lightspeed Rangers

The Lightspeed Rescue Rangers were chosen by the U.S. Government for a special mission called Operation Lightspeed. Their job was to fight ancient demons attacking the city of Mariner Bay, California. They were the first Power Rangers team to get their powers entirely from human science and technology. Unlike other Rangers, their powers didn't come from magic, wild animals, or alien tech. They were also the first Power Rangers whose secret identities were known to everyone. This is because they were public servants, like firefighters or police, so they didn't need to hide who they were. The idea of human-made Ranger powers was also used in later shows like Time Force and Beast Morphers.

Carter Grayson, the Red Ranger

Carter Grayson is a brave firefighter who became the Red Lightspeed Ranger. He is the serious and dedicated leader of the team. Carter often took big risks with daring moves, but he always saved people in danger.

When he was a child, a firefighter named William Mitchell rescued him from a burning building. This event inspired Carter to become a firefighter himself. Captain Mitchell, who later became the Rangers' leader, kept an eye on Carter's career. This led to Carter being chosen as the Red Lightspeed Ranger. Carter was the first to accept his role as a Power Ranger.

He bravely defeated Queen Bansheera in the final battle, sending her into the Shadow World forever. After his time as a Ranger, Carter went back to being a firefighter. He later teamed up with other Rangers to fight evil again in special episodes like "Forever Red" and Super Megaforce.

Chad Lee, the Blue Ranger

Chad Lee is a skilled martial artist and amazing aquatics performer. He was chosen to be the Blue Lightspeed Ranger. Chad loves spending time scuba diving and feels a strong connection to marine life. Captain Mitchell's team found him working at a marine park.

Chad brings his excellent martial arts skills and water rescue abilities to the team. He once had a temporary friendship with a mermaid named Marina. After leaving Lightspeed, Chad became a lifeguard. He returned to help his team fight an undead Vypra alongside the Time Force Rangers. He also joined other veteran Rangers in the final battle against the Armada in Super Megaforce.

Chad is played by Michael Chaturantabut.

Joel Rawlings, the Green Ranger

Joel Rawlings is an aerial stunt performer known as "The Sky Cowboy." Captain Mitchell recruited him to be the Green Lightspeed Ranger.

After one of his air shows, Joel was approached by Captain Mitchell's team and brought to the Lightspeed Aquabase. At first, he didn't want to be a Power Ranger. But when he saw his beloved Mariner Bay in danger, he decided to join.

Joel was interested in Ms. Angela Fairweather, the Rangers' assistant. In the final episode, they were about to go on their first date when Joel was called away for Ranger business. He eventually married her. Joel later joined his teammates in the final battle with the Armada forces in Super Megaforce.

Joel is played by Keith Robinson.

Kelsey Winslow, the Yellow Ranger

Kelsey is very active and loves extreme sports like professional mountain climbing. She took the job as the Lightspeed Rescue Yellow Ranger because it sounded like the most exciting thing ever. Kelsey is a free spirit who is very agile and good at making quick decisions. However, she can also be impulsive and sometimes acts without thinking.

Out of all the Rangers, Kelsey has the closest friendship with Chad, the Blue Lightspeed Ranger. They often do activities together, like martial arts. After defeating Queen Bansheera, Kelsey returned to extreme sports. She and the other Lightspeed Rangers returned as part of the army of Legendary Rangers. They helped the Mega Rangers defeat the Armada once and for all.

Kelsey is played by Sasha Williams.

Dana Mitchell, the Pink Ranger

Dana Leigh Mitchell is Captain Mitchell's daughter and Ryan Mitchell's younger sister. She was trained in medical duties and became the Pink Lightspeed Ranger.

Dana is a smart and calm young hero. With help from two agents, Dana gathered the team from all over Mariner Bay. She is a very important part of the team. Dana had a brief time as a model but quit when she realized being a Ranger was more important. She later reunited with her long-lost older brother, Ryan. After Lightspeed Rescue, Dana became a doctor, working as a pediatrician. She was called back to duty when Vypra returned and teamed up with the Time Force Rangers.

Dana is played by Alison MacInnis.

Ryan Mitchell, the Titanium Ranger

Ryan Mitchell is Captain Mitchell's son and Dana Mitchell's older brother. He is the Titanium Ranger.

When Ryan was very young, he was in an accident with his father and sister. They were all hanging from a cliff. A demon spirit named Diabolico appeared and offered Captain Mitchell a deal: Diabolico would save Ryan, but he would raise Ryan himself. Captain Mitchell wouldn't see his son again until Ryan's 20th birthday. Captain Mitchell agreed because Ryan was about to fall.

Diabolico raised Ryan and taught him that his father had abandoned him. Diabolico told Ryan to steal the special Titanium Morpher from the Lightspeed Base and use its power to destroy the Rangers. Ryan almost succeeded, but Captain Mitchell recognized him and told him the truth. After thinking it over, Ryan turned against Diabolico and joined the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers, reuniting with his family.

Ryan later left to find more information about the demons and how to defeat them. He eventually returned to help the Rangers in the final battle. He also joined the veteran Ranger army in Super Megaforce. Ryan was the first Ranger who didn't have a Japanese counterpart from the original Sentai series.

Ryan is played by Rhett Fisher.

Giant Robots (Zords)

The Power Rangers use amazing giant robots called Zords to fight huge monsters.

Lightspeed Rescuezords

These are the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers' first Zords. They are special vehicles that launch from the Mariner Bay.

• Pyro Rescue 1: Carter Grayson's ladder truck. It has two long ladder arms for rescuing people high up. It forms the Lightspeed Megazord's body and arms.
• Aqua Rescue 2: Chad Lee's chemical fire engine. It has four cannons to put out fires. It forms part of the Lightspeed Megazord's hips.
• Aero Rescue 3: Joel Rawlings' aircraft. It can take off and land vertically and has powerful guns. It forms the Lightspeed Megazord's head and back.
• Haz Rescue 4: Kelsey Winslow's giant armored vehicle. It has a shovel arm to move debris. It forms the left leg of the Lightspeed Megazord.
• Med Rescue 5: Dana Mitchell's giant ambulance. It can carry many people to safety. It forms the right leg of the Lightspeed Megazord.

Rail Rescues

The Rail Rescues are five super-powered train cars that combine to form the Supertrain. They launch from the Aquabase's train bay.

• Rail Rescue 1: A train engine that carries Pyro Rescue 1. It forms the Supertrain Megazord's right arm.
• Rail Rescue 2: A subway car that carries Aqua Rescue 2. It forms the Supertrain Megazord's left arm.
• Rail Rescue 3: A freighter that carries Aero Rescue 3. It forms the Supertrain Megazord's head, body, and upper legs.
• Rail Rescue 4: A coach car that carries Haz Rescue 4. It forms the Supertrain Megazord's lower left leg.
• Rail Rescue 5: A bullet train that carries Med Rescue 5. It forms the Supertrain Megazord's lower right leg.

Omegazords

The Omega Zords are five spacecraft created by Ms. Fairweather and her team.

• Omegazord 1: Piloted by Carter Grayson. It has missiles.
• Omegazord 2: Piloted by Chad Lee. It shoots special bullets to fix holes.
• Omegazord 3: Piloted by Joel Rawlings. It is the fastest and most agile.
• Omegazord 4: Piloted by Kelsey Winslow. It is heavily armored and has a claw.
• Omegazord 5: Piloted by Dana Mitchell. It has a claw and medical tools.

Megazords

• Lightspeed Megazord: The Rangers' first giant robot, made from the five Lightspeed Rescuezords. It uses the Lightspeed Megazord Saber. It was destroyed by Diabolico and Olympius.
• Supertrain Megazord: A giant robot formed by the five Rail Rescues. It has powerful gatling weapons. It was badly damaged in a battle.
• Max Solarzord: This Zord looks like a bullet train and is piloted by Ryan Mitchell. It can turn into a warrior mode and combine with the Lightspeed Megazord.
• Lightspeed Solarzord: This powerful robot is formed when the Lightspeed Megazord combines with the Max Solarzord. It has solar panels to absorb energy. It was destroyed in the finale.
• Omega Megazord: The five Omegazords can combine into this humanoid robot. It can launch powerful missiles. It was damaged but later repaired.
• Lifeforce Megazord: The final and most powerful robot. It is powered by the Rangers' life energy and has a strong sword. It was used in the final battle to defeat the Super Demons.

Allies of the Power Rangers

Captain William Mitchell

Captain William Mitchell is the leader of the Lightspeed Aquabase. He is also the mentor to the Lightspeed Rangers and the father of Dana and Ryan.

In his past, he was a firefighter who saved a young Carter. He was also involved in a car accident where his children were in danger. A demon named Diabolico offered to save Ryan if he could raise him. Captain Mitchell agreed, which was a very hard decision for him.

When the demons were freed, he was responsible for finding and gathering the Lightspeed Rangers. He chose them for their special skills. He also convinced Ryan to leave Diabolico's side and join the Rangers as the Titanium Ranger. Captain Mitchell deeply cares for his children and often rescues them from dangerous situations.

Captain Mitchell is played by Ron Roggé.

Angela Fairweather

Ms. Angela Fairweather is the main scientist at the Lightspeed Aquabase. She is an expert who develops Zords, weapons, and vehicles for the Rangers.

Joel Rawlings often tried to flirt with her throughout the series. At first, she wasn't interested. But in the final episode, she finally agreed to go on a date with him. Later, they got married.

Ms. Fairweather is played by Monica Louwerens.

Marina

Marina is a beautiful mermaid who was interested in Chad Lee. She is the daughter of Neptune. Marina once asked Chad for help to get her father's trident back from a monster.

Marina is played by Kamera Walton.

Demons

Thousands of years ago, a group of evil demons planned to destroy Earth. A powerful warlock sealed them away in the Tomb of Forever. In the present day, some travelers accidentally freed them. The demons were angry to find that humans had built the city of Mariner Bay over their old palace. They wanted to get it back and also worked to bring back their leader, Queen Bansheera.

Queen Bansheera

Queen Bansheera is the evil ruler of the demons. She eventually joined her followers and worked to get her physical body back. After absorbing another demon's energy, she regained her true form.

Once she was back, Bansheera wanted to take over the world. She was much more cruel than her other demons. She even turned her own son into a Super Demon. For her final plan, Bansheera wanted to open a portal to the Shadow World to free all the demons. Carter bravely kicked her into the portal. As she fell, a spirit of Diabolico appeared and helped the Rangers by cutting her tentacles. Bansheera fell into the Shadow World, where she was defeated by the other demons.

Queen Bansheera is voiced by Diane Salinger.

Prince Olympius

Prince Olympius is the dragon-like son of Queen Bansheera. At the beginning of the series, he was a baby demon named Impus. When Diabolico was defeated, Impus gained his power and grew into Olympius. He became the Rangers' main enemy, but he was young and less experienced than Diabolico.

Olympius later managed to bring Queen Bansheera back. However, she treated him like any other servant. To escape the Shadow World, Olympius defeated other demons and absorbed their energy, becoming more powerful. He was eventually defeated by the Rangers and later destroyed in his Super Demon form by the Lifeforce Megazord.

Olympius changed his appearance several times, always with a red color and dragon-like features.

Impus is voiced by Brianne Siddall and Olympius is voiced by Michael Forest.

Diabolico

Diabolico is a golden, devil-like demon with horns and spikes. He was the main villain for the first part of the series. He was the leader of the demons while Queen Bansheera was absent.

Long ago, Diabolico made a deal with Captain Mitchell to raise Ryan. Diabolico led the demons' efforts to destroy Mariner Bay. He even sent Ryan to fight the Rangers. But Ryan turned against him. Queen Bansheera became angry with Diabolico's failures. He was eventually defeated by the Lightspeed Solarzord.

Diabolico's spirit was sent to the Shadow World, but he was later brought back. He tried to regain favor with Queen Bansheera. He was eventually turned into a mindless servant by Bansheera. But Carter helped him regain his mind. Diabolico was destroyed again, but Bansheera revived him as a giant Super Demon. He was finally destroyed by the Lifeforce Megazord.

Diabolico had strong spiritual powers and could control the weather. His weapon was a skull-themed staff. He was a very powerful fighter.

Diabolico is voiced by Neil Kaplan.

Vypra

Vypra is one of the two female demons, along with Queen Bansheera. She looks the most human, like a young woman with bat-like wings. She is skilled in dark magic.

Vypra led several attacks on the Rangers. She used a thin saber in combat and piloted a fast vehicle called the Vyprari. She was later absorbed by Queen Bansheera to help her regain her physical form.

Vypra returned from the dead in a special episode of Power Rangers Time Force. She teamed up with another villain to get a powerful artifact. She was defeated again by the Red Time Force Ranger.

Vypra is played by Jennifer L. Yen and Wen Yann Shih.

Loki

Loki is a fierce and loyal Kobold-like demon warrior. He was a friend to Diabolico and Vypra. He was considered the strong but not-so-smart member of the demons.

Loki created monsters that were mostly earth-based. He used a two-pronged staff in battle. He was very loyal to Diabolico. After Queen Bansheera regained her body, she used Loki in a plan to destroy the Rangers. Diabolico tried to warn him, but Loki was fatally wounded during the battle. Loki died in Diabolico's arms, which made Diabolico furious at Queen Bansheera.

Loki is voiced by David Lodge.

Jinxer

Jinxer is a fly-like demon who served Queen Bansheera and her team. He was very smart and skilled in magic. He used magic cards to summon Batlings, create monsters, and empower other demons. He was a bit cowardly and usually relied on his summoned creatures.

Jinxer was very loyal to Olympius. He even helped Olympius escape the Shadow World. In the final battle, Jinxer used his last Batling card to send a huge army of Batlings to invade the Aquabase. He also piloted the Omega Megazord to help Queen Bansheera open a gateway to the Shadow World. His final fate is not shown, but it's believed he was destroyed.

Jinxer is voiced by Kim Strauss.

Troika Demons

The Troika Demons are a powerful trio of fallen angel-like demons. They were Diabolico's strongest servants. He saved them as a last resort against the Rangers.

Their first plan was to spread explosive feathers across Mariner Bay. The Rangers managed to stop them. The three warriors fought the Rangers and defeated them easily. However, Ryan, as the Titanium Ranger, soundly defeated them.

Even after their leader was lost, the remaining two demons were still powerful. The Rangers had to separate them to finally win. The fight against them lasted for four episodes.

Demonite

Demonite is a demonic knight-like warrior and the leader of the trio. He used a sword gauntlet on his right hand. He could also fire lasers from his eyes. He was destroyed by the Red Ranger but later revived as a giant, stronger version.

Demonite is voiced by David Stenstrom.

Thunderon

Thunderon is a huge, green-skinned Viking/ghoul-like demon with small angel wings. He attacked with his brute strength. He could also shoot green electricity from his eyes. He was destroyed by the Rangers but later revived as a giant.

Thunderon is voiced by Alonzo Bodden.

Falkar

Falkar is an elf/falcon-themed warrior. He used a three-pronged staff and could fire blue energy beams from his helmet. He was buried under rubble by the Pink and Yellow Rangers. He was later given an Advanced Growth Card and became a stronger, dragon-like form.

Falkar is voiced by Ezra Weisz.

Troika (Combined Form)

After each Troika demon was destroyed, their bodies turned into a colored gem. Diabolico used these gems to combine them into Troika, a powerful warrior with parts from all three demons. Troika had Thunderon's strength, Demonite's skill, and Falkar's speed. The Rangers had a hard time fighting Troika. Luckily, Ms. Fairweather gave the Rangers Battle Boosters, which helped them destroy Troika.

Troika speaks with the voices of Demonite, Thunderon, and Falkar all at once.

Triskull

Triskull is a demon warrior who worked with another villain named Trakeena. He pretended to help Olympius collect energy for Queen Bansheera, but he was actually collecting it for Trakeena. He was destroyed by the Red Galaxy Ranger and the Red Lightspeed Ranger.

Triskull is voiced by Michael Sorich.

Batlings

The Batlings are bat-like foot soldiers. They are summoned from Jinxer's cards and make up most of the demon army. They look like black-suited figures with goggles and small bat wings. They use small swords in battle and can sometimes turn into bats for surprise attacks.

Demonic Monsters

These monsters are created by Diabolico and his team using special Demon Cards. To make a demon grow giant, Jinxer would throw a magic card at them. If an Advanced Growth card was used, the demon could become even stronger. When a demon is destroyed, its spirit goes to the Shadow World.

• Ghouligan (voiced by Ken Merckx) – A fire demon. Destroyed by the Rangers' Rescue Blasters.
• Magmavore (voiced by Kim Strauss, David Lodge) – A giant lava golem. Destroyed by the Lightspeed Megazord and later by the Supertrain Megazord.
• Quakemon – A giant earthquake demon. Destroyed by the Lightspeed Megazord.
• Whirlin (voiced by John C. Hyke) – A tornado demon. Destroyed by the Lightspeed Megazord.
• Fireor (voiced by Bob Papenbrook) – A sword-wielding fire demon. Destroyed by the Lightspeed Megazord.
• Gold-Beak (voiced by Neil Kaplan) – A vampire bat demon.
• Elestomp (voiced by Stephen Apostolina) – An elephant demon. Destroyed by the Unilaser.
• Strikning (voiced by Eddie Frierson) – A lightning demon. Destroyed by the Lightspeed Megazord.
• Smogger (voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz) – A gas demon. Destroyed by the Red Ranger's Lightspeed Cycle.
• Trifire (voiced by Dave Mallow) – A fire-breathing three-headed dragon demon. Destroyed by the Lightspeed Megazord and later by the Supertrain Megazord.
• Liztwin (voiced by Archie Kao) – A skeletal dinosaur/dragon demon. Destroyed by the Supertrain Megazord.
• Cobra Monster (voiced by Richard Cansino) – A cobra demon linked to a curse on Ryan. Destroyed by Ryan.
• Thunderclaw (voiced by Bob Papenbrook) - A stag beetle demon. Destroyed by the Lightspeed Solarzord.
• Shockatron (voiced by Herbie Baez) - An electronic demon. Destroyed by the Lightspeed Megazord.
• Spellbinder (voiced by Kirk Thornton) - A mystical wizard demon. Destroyed by the Lightspeed Solarzord.
• Moleman (voiced by Ken Merckx) - A dog/mole demon. Destroyed by the V-Lancers.
• Cyclopter (voiced by Richard Epcar) - A cyclops demon. Destroyed by the Omega Megazord.
