The Russia men's national volleyball team is a group of top volleyball players who represent Russia in international games. They are managed by the Russian Volleyball Federation.
The FIVB (the world's volleyball organization) sees Russia as the team that carries on the history of the Soviet Union (1948–1991) and the CIS (1992) in volleyball. The Soviet Union's volleyball group joined the FIVB in 1948. Since then, the team has been very strong, winning many big tournaments. This includes six World Championships, four Olympic Games, six World Cups, and 14 European Championships. These wins combine the medals from both Russia and the Soviet Union.

History of the Team
The volleyball group for the USSR (Soviet Union) joined the FIVB in 1948. The very next year, they played in the first World Championship.
Recently, due to some events, the International Volleyball Federation has stopped all Russian national teams, clubs, and officials from taking part in their events. Russia also lost the right to host the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship. The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) has also stopped Russian teams from playing in European competitions.
