The Russia men's national volleyball team is a group of top volleyball players who represent Russia in international games. The team is managed by the Russian Volleyball Federation.
The FIVB, which is the main international volleyball group, sees Russia as the team that carries on the history and records of the Soviet Union (from 1948 to 1991) and the CIS (in 1992). The Soviet Union's volleyball group joined the FIVB in 1948. Since then, the team has been very successful. They have won many major titles, including six World Championships, four Olympic Games gold medals, six World Cups, and 14 European Championships. These wins combine the achievements of both the Soviet Union and Russia.

Team History
The volleyball team from the USSR joined the FIVB in 1948. The very next year, they played in the first World Championship. They quickly became a strong force in international volleyball.
Recently, due to decisions by international sports organizations, all Russian national teams, clubs, and officials were suspended from many events. This also meant that Russia could not host the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship or some 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League games. The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) also stopped Russian teams and officials from taking part in European competitions.
