Abraham Mateo Chamorro (born on August 25, 1998) is a talented Spanish singer, songwriter, actor, and music producer. He is famous for his soulful voice and energetic dance music.
Abraham started winning TV show prizes when he was only seven years old. By age nine, he won a special award at a national music contest for kids in Spain. For over three years, he was a regular on the children's TV show Menuda Noche. He impressed everyone with his strong singing and stage presence.
When he was about ten, he signed a music deal with EMI Music Spain. He then released his first album, named Abraham Mateo.

Abraham's Musical Journey
Early Years and First Album
Abraham Mateo was born in San Fernando, Cádiz, Spain. His family loved music; his grandfathers were singers, and his mother sang too. He began singing at age three, copying singers from a TV talent show. His mom was his first singing teacher!
He learned to play the flute at six, piano at eight, and guitar at ten. He taught himself by listening to music. In 2006, at seven, he won an award at a regional music contest. Two years later, he won a national award.
In 2008, he joined the TV show Menuda Noche. He performed songs by many famous Latin artists for over four years.
In 2009, Abraham signed with EMI Music Spain. He released his first album, Abraham Mateo, in December that year. The album had original songs and covers of popular artists. He even sang a duet with French singer Caroline Costa.
Abraham also tried acting! In 2009, he was in a TV mini-series called Días Sin Luz. A year later, he played a younger version of the famous Spanish singer Raphael in another TV mini-series. After his first album, he kept making videos of himself singing songs in Spanish, Italian, and English for YouTube.
Rising to Fame with AM
In 2012, Abraham signed with Sony Music Spain. A year later, he released his second album, AM. This album showed a new pop and electronic dance sound. AM was a big hit, reaching number six on Spain's album charts. It stayed on the charts for almost a year and was certified Gold.
His first song from AM, "Señorita", made him super popular. The song was on Spain's Top 50 singles chart for 40 weeks and reached number three. Its music video was the most watched music video on YouTube Spain in 2013!
In July 2013, he performed "Señorita" at the Premios Juventud Awards in Miami. He was even nominated for "Best New Artist." Another song, "Lánzalo," was released in 2014 to help children affected by the Syrian conflict. It reached number two on Spain's singles chart.
Abraham went on his first big tour, the AM tour, in 2014. He performed nearly 40 concerts across Spain. He also performed in Latin America for the first time, with sold-out shows in Chile and Argentina. He even opened for the British boyband One Direction during their 2014 tour in Peru, Chile, and Spain.
He sang "La puerta hacia el amor" for the Spanish version of the Disney movie Frozen.
Who I Am and Are You Ready?
In 2014, Abraham worked on his third album, Who I AM, in Los Angeles. This album had a cool mix of funk and futuristic sounds. It became number one in Mexico and Spain and was certified Platinum.
The first song from this album, "All The Girls (La La La)," was a big hit. Its music video was even chosen as the best Spanish music video of 2014 on VEVO.
To promote Who I AM, Abraham toured Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Dominican Republic, and Mexico. He performed huge concerts, including a sold-out show in Madrid. He also had his first solo concerts in Mexico City and Peru.
In 2015, Abraham started working on his fourth album, Are You Ready?. This album showed off his songwriting skills and a more grown-up style. It reached number three in Spain and number seven in Mexico. It included songs like "Old School" and "Mueve" with Argentinian singer Lali.
He toured again for Are You Ready?, visiting Colombia, Chile, Portugal, Argentina, Peru, and Mexico. In October 2016, he had his biggest concert yet at a sold-out 10,000-seat National Auditorium in Mexico City.
Abraham also sang "Mellow Yellow" for the Spanish soundtrack of the animated movie Minions. In 2014, his first biography, I.AM., was published.


Recent Successes and Collaborations
In 2017, Abraham released "Loco Enamorado" with Puerto Rican singers Farruko and Christian Daniel. This song was a huge international hit! It appeared on several Billboard charts and was certified multi-Platinum in the US, Spain, and Latin America.
Later in 2017, he released "Háblame Bajito" with rap legend 50 Cent and pop singer Austin Mahone. The music video for this song was shown first on Billboard's website. In 2018, he released "Se Acabó El Amor" with Jennifer Lopez and Yandel.
Abraham is also a talented producer. He produces music for himself and many other famous artists like Jennifer Lopez, 50 Cent, Becky G, and Manuel Turizo. He has worked with many artists, including Luis Fonsi, Pitbull, and CNCO. He has also co-written many of his own hit songs.
In 2023, Abraham became a presenter for a new TV music show called Cover Night in Spain. He also won a boxing match against Spanish YouTuber Ampeter in a big event called La Velada del Año. In 2024, he was a judge and mentor on the TV show Factor X, where his team won! He also won Mask Singer: Adivina quién canta as "Mosca" (Fly).
In November 2024, Abraham performed his song "Maníaca" at Eurovisión Junior 2024. This song is a new Spanish version of the classic "Maniac." Later that month, he won a LOS40 Music Award for Best Album with his album Insomnio. This album includes popular songs like "Clavaíto" (with Chanel) and "Quiero Decirte" (with Ana Mena). In January 2025, "Maníaca" won the award for Best Song among the most-played tracks of 2024 by Europa FM users.
Abraham's Music Style
Abraham Mateo's music is mostly pop. He also mixes in sounds from R&B, electronic pop, reggae, and upbeat Latin music.
Billboard magazine has called Abraham a "wunderkind," meaning a very talented young person. They said he "sounds and dances a lot like Michael Jackson." Abraham himself says Michael Jackson is his biggest music inspiration. He also looks up to artists like Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Ricky Martin, and Alejandro Sanz.
