The Gentlemen's Doubles competition started in 1884. However, there were no tournaments from 1915 to 1918 and from 1940 to 1945. This was because of the two World Wars.
Here you can find a list of all the teams who have won or been runners-up in the Wimbledon Gentlemen's Doubles.
This section lists the champions from the early days of Wimbledon until 1968. During this time, only amateur players (those who did not play for money) could compete.
