Nicholas Jerry Jonas (born September 16, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He started acting on Broadway when he was seven years old. His first song came out in 2002. This song got the attention of Columbia Records.
At Columbia Records, Nick formed a band with his older brothers, Kevin and Joe. They called themselves the Jonas Brothers. Their first album, It's About Time, was released in 2006. Later, they signed with Hollywood Records. Their second album, Jonas Brothers (2007), made them very famous.
The band became well-known on the Disney Channel. They gained many fans through the network. They starred in the popular musical TV movie Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010). They also had their own TV shows, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (2008–2010) and Jonas (2009–2010).
Their third album, A Little Bit Longer (2008), was also very successful. The song "Burnin' Up" from this album reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. After their fourth album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times (2009), the Jonas Brothers took a break. Nick then started a new band called Nick Jonas & the Administration. They released the album Who I Am in 2010. After this, Nick focused more on acting. He appeared in the TV series Smash and in some Broadway shows.
The Jonas Brothers officially broke up in 2013. Nick then began working on his second solo album. He signed with Island Records and released Nick Jonas in 2014. The song "Jealous" from this album became a big hit. Nick later helped start Safehouse Records, a record label. His third album, Last Year Was Complicated (2016), reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2016, he won the Hal David Starlight Award for his songwriting. Nick Jonas's Story
Early Life and Career Beginnings
Nick Jonas was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 16, 1992. He is the third son of Denise and Paul Kevin Jonas. His father is a songwriter and musician. His mother was a sign language teacher and singer. Nick has a younger brother, Frankie, and two older brothers, Joe and Kevin. He grew up in Wyckoff, New Jersey. His mother homeschooled him.
Nick's career began when he was six years old. He was discovered in a barber shop and was referred to a professional manager. He started performing on Broadway at age seven. He played roles like Tiny Tim and Gavroche. In 2002, while performing in Beauty and the Beast, Nick wrote a song called "Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)" with his father. This song was later released as his first single in 2003.
The song caught the attention of Columbia Records. Nick signed with them to release his first solo album. He co-wrote songs for this album with his brothers. Nicholas Jonas (2004) was released in a limited way. The president of Columbia Records liked Nick's voice. He decided to sign Nick and his brothers as a group. They considered naming their group Sons of Jonas, but chose Jonas Brothers instead. In 2005, when Nick was 13, he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Nick made his film debut with his brothers in the Disney Channel movie Camp Rock (2008). They starred alongside Demi Lovato. The movie's soundtrack was released in June 2008. Their fifth album, Happiness Begins, came out on June 7. In October 2019, Nick joined The Voice as a coach. He was a coach for its eighteenth and twentieth seasons. Nick also had a role in the World War II movie Midway, released on November 8, 2019.
On February 20, 2021, it was announced that Nick would host Saturday Night Live for the first time on February 27. He was also the musical guest, performing his song "Spaceman" from his album of the same name. The second song, "This Is Heaven", was released on March 4, 2021.
On March 15, 2021, Nick and his wife, Priyanka Chopra, announced the nominees for the 93rd Academy Awards. On April 30, 2021, it was announced that Nick would host the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. Nick has also explored other interests. In 2017, he launched his shoe collection, 1410, with Creative Recreation. In 2018, he released a clothing line called JV x NJ with John Varvatos. They also released a fragrance. In 2019, they released two more fragrances. In October 2022, Nick worked with PXG on a golf clothing collection.
In September 2019, Nick announced a new tequila brand called Villa One. He created it with John Varvatos and Stoli Group. The tequila was released in the U.S. in September. It later became available in the United Kingdom and Canada.
Producing and Business
On September 29, 2021, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas joined the producing team for the Broadway comedy Chicken & Biscuits. Nick was also an executive producer for the show Dash & Lily. This series was released on November 10, 2020, on Netflix. Nick helped with casting, filming, and music. He also made a cameo in the series. He gave love advice and performed "Like It's Christmas" with his brothers.
In 2020, Amazon Studios approved a series about engaged couples preparing for their sangeet. This is an Indian pre-wedding tradition. Nick was announced as an executive producer for this project. In July 2022, Nick and Priyanka announced an investment in Perfect Moment. This company makes women's clothing. The couple will help the company grow in Asia and the Middle East.
Personal Life
Health and Relationships

Nick was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was thirteen. He uses an insulin pump to manage his condition. He started the Change for the Children Foundation. This foundation works with charities to raise money and awareness for diabetes. He also spoke in the U.S. Senate to support more research funding for diabetes.
On May 15, 2021, Nick had a biking accident and cracked a rib. He was taken to a hospital but was discharged a day later. He returned to The Voice on May 17. Nick said his accident would not stop him from hosting the Billboard Music Awards.
Nick Jonas started dating Indian actress Priyanka Chopra in May 2018. He proposed to her on July 19, 2018. They got engaged in August 2018 in Mumbai. In December 2018, they got married at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. They had both traditional Hindu and Christian ceremonies. In January 2022, Nick announced that he and his wife welcomed their first child, a daughter, through surrogacy.
Helping Others
In 2009, Nick was part of "Disney's Friends for Change". This group promoted environmentally friendly actions. The Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, and Selena Gomez recorded the song "Send It On". All the money from the song went to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.
In January 2010, Nick donated $25,000 from his family's foundation to the North Texas Food Bank. He also volunteered for Do Something. He offered his time as a prize to teens who donated jeans. Nick also filmed a public service announcement for Do Something's "Battle of the Bands" campaign. This campaign supported music education in schools. In 2017, Nick, Demi Lovato, and DNCE started a campaign to raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief.
In March 2020, Nick and his wife, Priyanka Chopra, announced they had donated to several organizations. These included UNICEF and Feeding America. They wanted to help fight the COVID-19 outbreak. They also donated to the Equal Justice Initiative and American Civil Liberties Union in June 2020. The next month, they donated to flood relief organizations after the Assam flood.
In April 2021, Nick and Priyanka asked fans to donate to the GiveIndia NGO. This was for their fundraiser "Together for India" during the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. By May 13, 2021, the fundraiser reached its goal of $1 million. They then raised the target to $3 million.
