The 24th Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was a super fun event held on April 2, 2011. It took place at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California. Usually, the show is at a place called Pauley Pavilion, but it was being fixed up. The amazing Jack Black hosted the show for the third time, making everyone laugh!

This was the first time since 2006 that the awards show happened in April, instead of late March. The nominees for twenty different awards were announced on February 10, 2011. A special honor, the Big Green Help Award, was given to Justin Timberlake during the show. Over 200 million votes were cast by fans for their favorites, which was a record!

Awesome Performances

Many cool artists performed live at the 2011 Kids' Choice Awards.

Main Show Performances

  • Big Time Rush sang their hit song "Boyfriend". A big surprise happened when Snoop Dogg joined them on stage and even got slimed at the end!
  • The Black Eyed Peas performed a mix of their popular songs, including "I Gotta Feeling", "The Time (Dirty Bit)", and "Just Can't Get Enough".
  • Willow Smith rocked the stage with her songs "21st Century Girl" and "Whip My Hair".

Pre-Show Fun

Before the main show, there was a "Countdown to Kids' Choice!" pre-show. It was hosted by Jeff Sutphen from BrainSurge, Daniella Monet from Victorious, Noah Munck from iCarly, and singer Aaron Fresh.

  • The band Train performed their song "Hey, Soul Sister".
  • Victoria Justice, who was also a presenter, sang "Beggin' on Your Knees" from her show Victorious.

Behind the Scenes and Cool Facts

Nickelodeon's other channels, TeenNick and Nicktoons, stopped their regular shows so everyone could watch the awards. The street in front of the Galen Center was blocked off. This made space for an "orange carpet" and a stage where fans could watch the pre-show.

On April 1st, Nickelodeon played an April Fool's Day joke. They pretended that the famous green slime had been stolen!

Fans could vote for their favorites in many ways. They could vote online on the official website and mobile site. For the first time, people could also vote using their Facebook accounts. There was even a special iPhone/iPad app for voting, which was new from the year before.
