Badminton Europe (BEC) is the main organization for the sport of badminton in Europe. Think of it as the boss or leader for badminton across many European countries. It is one of five big groups around the world that work under the Badminton World Federation (BWF), which is the global leader for badminton.
Badminton Europe helps organize and grow badminton across Europe. It has 53 countries that are full members and one associate member. The organization was started on September 27, 1967, in Frankfurt, Germany. In 2006, the members decided to change the name from "European Badminton Union" to "Badminton Europe".
