List of tallest buildings in Quebec facts for kids
This article lists the tallest buildings in Quebec, Canada. It includes skyscrapers and other tall buildings in cities like Montreal, Quebec City, Gatineau, Longueuil, and Westmount. Each of these cities has buildings taller than 100 meters (328 feet).
The tallest building in Quebec, when measured by its roof height, is the 51-storey 1000 de La Gauchetière. It stands at 205 meters (673 feet). However, if we include spires and other architectural parts, the tallest building is 1250 René-Lévesque. It reaches 226.5 meters (743 feet) with its spire, or 199 meters (653 feet) without it. This way of measuring is used by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
In Montreal, city rules limit how tall buildings can be. They cannot be taller than Mount Royal or 232.5 meters (764 feet) above sea level. Also, buildings usually can't be taller than 200 meters (656 feet). Most areas downtown have even stricter height limits, with only a few spots allowing buildings over 120 meters (394 feet). The tallest buildings, like 1000 de La Gauchetière and 1250 René-Lévesque, are at this maximum limit. 1250 René-Lévesque is shorter than 1000 de La Gauchetière, but it was built on higher ground.
Interestingly, cities like Gatineau and Quebec City do not have these strict height limits for their buildings.

Quebec's Tallest Buildings
This list shows buildings in Quebec that are at least 100 meters (328 feet) tall. We use the CTBUH standards for measuring height. This means we include spires and fancy architectural parts, but not antenna masts. If two or more buildings have the same height, they share a rank, shown by an equal sign (=).
We also mention freestanding towers, like the Tour de Montréal. These are not buildings where people live or work in the same way, but they are included for comparison. They are not given a rank.
