Czechoslovakia was a country in Central Europe. Its athletes first joined the Olympic Games in 1920. Before that, from 1900 to 1912, they competed as Bohemia.
Czechoslovakia sent athletes to almost every Summer Olympic Games. They only missed the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. This was because they joined a group of countries that decided not to go.
The country also took part in every Winter Olympic Games. Their first Winter Games were in 1924.
In 1993, Czechoslovakia split into two new countries. These were the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Since 1994, both countries have sent their own teams to the Olympics.
Czechoslovak athletes won a total of 143 medals at the Summer Games. Most of these medals were in gymnastics. They also won 25 medals at the Winter Games. Their best sports in winter were ski jumping and ice hockey.
