List of Native American actors facts for kids
This is a list of Native American actors from the United States, including those from Alaskan Native groups. These actors have shared their talents in movies, TV shows, and plays.
Being Native American means different things. It's about having family ties to the first peoples of North America. Many Native American groups, called tribes, had their own governments long before the United States was formed. These governments and their rights are often recognized by treaties.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs, a U.S. government agency, says a Native American has American Indian or Alaska Native family. Legally, it often means being a member of a tribe officially recognized by the government. But it's also about culture, history, language, and family connections. Everyone on this list has confirmed Native American family. For people from a long time ago, we look at their tribal connections through culture and family. For people today, they are usually members of tribes recognized by the government, or their tribes confirm their heritage.
