List of U.S. state mammals facts for kids

A state mammal is a special animal chosen by a U.S. state to be its official symbol. This choice is made by the state's government. Some states pick a land mammal, while others choose a marine mammal, like a whale or dolphin. You'll find that some states even have more than one official mammal!

Many states also have other official animals. These can include state birds, state fish, state butterflies, and state reptiles. There are even special lists for state dogs and state horses.
