List of cities in Pakistan by population facts for kids
This article lists the 100 largest cities in Pakistan. It shows how many people lived in each city in 2017. This information comes from the 2017 Census of Pakistan.
The numbers here are for the people living inside a city's official borders. This includes any nearby military areas called cantonments. The only exceptions are Gujranwala and Okara.
The official numbers come from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. This is for the four provinces and Islamabad. For cities in Azad Kashmir, the numbers are from their local planning department.
In 2017, Pakistan had two "megacities." These are very, very large cities. It also had ten cities with over a million people. There were 100 cities with 100,000 people or more.
Most of these big cities are in Punjab. Fifty-eight of the 100 cities are there. Twenty-two are in Sindh. Eleven are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Six are in Balochistan. Two are in Azad Kashmir. One is in Islamabad Capital Territory.
We don't know if Gilgit-Baltistan has any cities over 100,000 people. Their 2017 census results are not public yet. In the 1998 census, Gilgit was its biggest city. It had 56,701 people back then.
