Jersey City's first skyscraper, the Labor Bank Building, was built in 1928. But Jersey City didn't have many tall buildings until the late 1980s and early 1990s. In the 2000s, Jersey City's building boom really took off. Both Jersey City and Newark have seen many new tall buildings built since 2010, and this growth is still happening today. Atlantic City had two main building booms, one in the 1980s and another in the 2000s. These were mostly for building casinos.
