Saving Old Places
This team works to protect North Dakota's historic buildings and sites. They make a plan for saving history across the state. They also find, check, and suggest places to be added to important lists like the State and National Register of Historic Places. This team helps people save historic properties. They also check big projects to make sure old places are not harmed.
The State Archives
The State Archives team collects and keeps important historical documents for the Society. It is the official place for state records. They gather all kinds of research materials about North Dakota and the Northern Great Plains. This includes old handwritten papers, books, magazines, maps, newspapers, audio and video recordings, and photographs.
Museums and Learning
This team shares North Dakota's history through displays at the North Dakota Heritage Center. They also have exhibits at other museums, like the Pembina State Museum. They even create exhibits that travel around. This team helps other museums and people learn how to design exhibits and take care of old items. They are in charge of keeping and showing many historical objects. This includes about 650,000 archaeological pieces and 43,000 other historical items.
