List of SR West Country and Battle of Britain class locomotives facts for kids
These are the names and numbers of the amazing steam trains known as the Bulleid light pacifics. They were part of the West Country and Battle of Britain classes of trains. These trains ran on the Southern Railway network in Britain.
These locomotives were a big hit for the Southern Railway! The West Country trains were named after places the railway served. This helped people remember all the cool destinations. The Battle of Britain trains were like a moving tribute to the brave fighter pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain. They also honored the actions of RAF Fighter Command.
Two trains, No. 34066 Spitfire and No. 34086 219 Squadron, were once considered to be saved and kept for history. But in the end, No. 34023 Blackmoor Vale was chosen instead. This was because it was in much better condition than the others.

- WC/NA – A West Country train that didn't have a special coat of arms.
