- February 22 – A Native American named Quadequine showed popcorn to English settlers.
- March 22 – The Massachusetts Bay Colony made a rule against playing with cards, dice, and gaming tables.
- June 6 – Swedish warships sailed from Stockholm towards Germany.
- June 26 – July 6 – Swedish soldiers, led by King Gustavus Adolphus, arrived in Pomerania, Germany. They came to help Protestants there.
- July 6 – The ship Success, which was the last one from the Winthrop Fleet, safely returned to Salem harbor in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
