List of rivers of Belgium facts for kids
Belgium is a country in Europe, and like all countries, it has many rivers! This article will tell you about the main rivers that flow through Belgium, or have smaller rivers in Belgium that feed into them.
Almost all of Belgium's rivers eventually flow into the North Sea. However, there's one small area, the municipality of Momignies, where the water flows into the Oise river, which then goes into the English Channel.
Rivers that flow directly into the sea are listed in alphabetical order. Rivers that join other rivers are listed based on how close they meet the sea. Some rivers, like the Moselle, Rhine, or Seine, don't actually flow through Belgium themselves. But they are important because some Belgian rivers flow into them.
If a river has different names in French, Dutch, or German, you'll see those names in parentheses. This only happens if the river flows through areas where those languages are spoken.

Rivers are often grouped by their "basin." A basin is like a giant bowl where all the rain and smaller streams eventually flow into one main river.
