The Sint Maarten national football team represents Sint Maarten in football. Sint Maarten is the Dutch part of the Caribbean island of Saint Martin. The team is managed by the Sint Maarten Football Federation.
Sint Maarten is not part of FIFA. This means they cannot play in the World Cup. They tried to join FIFA in 2016 but were not accepted. In 2022, they asked the CAS to review FIFA's decision.
In 2002, Sint Maarten became an associate member of CONCACAF. They became full members in 2013. This happened after the Netherlands Antilles split up in 2010. Sint Maarten also belongs to the Caribbean Football Union. They first played in the Caribbean Cup in 1989.

History of Sint Maarten Football
From 1992 to 2016, the team played only about 25 official matches. Between 2000 and 2016, they played just one unofficial game. This was a 2–2 draw against Sint Eustatius in 2004.
In 2012, the head of the Sint Maarten Soccer Association, Owen Nickie, explained why the team was not active. He said their home stadium needed improvements. He also mentioned that they did not have enough players before. But by 2012, they had plenty of players. The association wanted to host the Leeward Islands Tournament. They also aimed to play in the 2012 Caribbean Cup qualification. Nickie felt it was a shame they had not played in the Caribbean Cup earlier.
In 2014, Sint Maarten was supposed to co-host the Leeward Islands Tournament. This tournament had not been held for over ten years. However, it was postponed. Sint Maarten pulled out because of problems with new lights at their stadium. Another host, Anguilla, also withdrew. Some reports said the hosts could not properly support the teams.
In 2015, a special match was held. It helped select players for the national team. Any player with a Dutch passport could join. Even though the senior team was not very active, a youth team played. They took part in the first CONCACAF Under-15 Championship in 2013. Sint Maarten also co-hosted the 2015 CFU Boy's Under-15 Championship. This was after the CONCACAF Under-15 Championship was cancelled.
Return to International Football: 2017 Caribbean Cup
Sint Maarten returned to international football in 2016. They entered the 2017 Caribbean Cup qualification. They were in Group 2 with Grenada and the US Virgin Islands. The first games were in March 2016. Sint Maarten had not played in a senior CFU competition for 19 years.
In January 2016, it was first said that the squad would only have players from Flames United SC. This team was a champion in local leagues. But this was later corrected. Flames United would play in the CFU Club Championship instead.
Sint Maarten played its first senior international match in 12 years on March 13, 2016. They won 2–0 against Anguilla at home. This was a warm-up for the Caribbean Cup qualifiers. Joost Röben scored both goals for Sint Maarten.
In their first tournament match, Sint Maarten played Grenada. The score was 0–0 at halftime. But two Sint Maarten players got hurt. Raymond Wolff broke a rib. Grenada scored five goals in the second half, winning 5–0. The Sint Maarten team had a tough time getting to Grenada. Their flight funds were delayed. They almost missed the game but a new flight was arranged. They then lost to USVI 1–2, ending their qualifying journey. Ramsleii Boelijn scored Sint Maarten's only goal.
Home Stadium: Raoul Illidge Sports Complex
Sint Maarten plays its home matches at the Raoul Illidge Sports Complex. This stadium is in Philipsburg. It can hold 3,000 people.
The stadium is named after Raoul Illidge. He was a kind person who helped pay for the stadium's planning. He gave about ƒ800,000 for the project. This showed his support for sports and culture on the island.
The complex needed repairs and was closed in July 2013. The renovations included a new running track and drainage system. They also added artificial turf. The lighting poles were repainted, and new, brighter lights were installed. The buildings were also fixed up. The Dutch funding agency Usona and the Sint Maarten government paid for the renovations. The stadium officially reopened on March 7, 2014. Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams and Minister Patricia Lourens-Phillip attended the ceremony.
