Nicknames
The official nickname for the Antigua and Barbuda national football team is "the Benna Boys." This name comes from a type of music from Antigua and Barbuda, similar to calypso. The team chose this name in a contest in 2012. This happened after they did well in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. Other names suggested were "Beach Boys" and "Rhythm Warriors." In the past, people sometimes called the team "the Wadadli Boys."
