The Dominican Republic national football team represents the Dominican Republic in men's international soccer games. This team is managed by the Federación Dominicana de Fútbol (FEDOFUTBOL). They are part of the Caribbean Football Union within CONCACAF, which is the main soccer organization for North and Central America and the Caribbean.
As of July 2025, the Dominican Republic team is ranked 139th in the FIFA World Rankings. In the Dominican Republic, baseball is usually more popular than soccer. This has sometimes made it harder for the soccer team to succeed in big tournaments. However, in 2024, the team made history by qualifying for the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup, which is their first major tournament! They have not yet qualified for the FIFA World Cup.

Team History
The Dominican Football Federation started in 1953 and joined FIFA in 1959. The national team played its very first games in May 1967. These were two matches against Haiti to try and qualify for the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico. Haiti won both games, 8–0 and 6–0.
The team did not play again until March 1970. They joined the 1970 Central American and Caribbean Games in Panama. They lost 5–0 to Venezuela but then won their first-ever game by beating Puerto Rico 5–0. They did not move on to the next round in that tournament.
In 1971, the Dominican Republic played in the 1971 Pan American Games in Colombia. They lost to the Bahamas (4–2) and Canada (4–0) and were knocked out. In 1986, they achieved their best result in the Central American and Caribbean Games, finishing in 3rd place.
In 2012, the Dominicans qualified for the 2012 Caribbean Cup. They won one game against Antigua and Barbuda (2–1) but lost to Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago.
A big moment happened in 2024 when the Dominican Republic won all their matches in the 2024–25 CONCACAF Nations League B. They beat Bermuda, Dominica, and Antigua and Barbuda. This success meant they were promoted to League A and, even more exciting, qualified for their first-ever major continental tournament, the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup!
