The papaya is a super yummy tropical fruit! It's known for its sweet taste and bright orange or yellow flesh. Papayas grow in warm places around the world. This article shares how much papaya different countries grew between 2017 and 2022.
In 2022, the world produced about 13.8 million metric tonnes of papayas. That's a huge amount! A metric tonne is like 1,000 kilograms, or about the weight of a small car. Even though it sounds like a lot, the total amount of papaya grown in 2022 was a little less than in 2021.
